Cappy, it looks like there is a straight run of chicks in your near future, lol. Maybe this year will be more equal, gender wise, instead of last year's mostly cockrel hatches.

Oh , i ordered the sex of the chicks i wanted but i lost 9 birds to disease. Now i am kind of hesitant to order any more chicks.

None lost in the last few days. Just feeling sad i am down to 4 pullets from 10 and no cockerels to fertilize eggs. So its a dead end.

Oh yeah, between the dust and the spray, those things better be gone. But i will be vigilant in case more hatch.

The only chicken friends i have are on BYC. I don't know anyone in this state.

Smuvers, try garage sales, thrift stores and goodwill. You may not find in bulk, but you may find cheap. Otherwise, try bulk food stores and online. Wal-Mart has them, along with places like Kroger and probably Piggly Wiggley and other grocery stores, but are more than likely more expensive. (Yes, I just revealed my Midwest upbringing with those two grocery stores )

I don't think so. Still have them in TN a few years back when we lived there.

Get some chicks from a breeder instead of a hatchery
