I agree with locking them in the coop. Most of mine lay in the early part of the day but I have hens laying an hour before dark too.

You may have to keep them in the coop for several days Sam.

They won't like it but once retrained to lay in the boxes you shouldn't have to repeat it.

The only other thing may be number of nests vs number of hens.
With my layers one nest per 4 hens works well. My broody group has 6 birds and 4 boxes.
One bird is no longer laying and one is a non broody breed so we will see how that works over the summer.

keep the fake eggs/golf balls in the nest boxes and leave them in the coop until noon or so.. if they lay in the morning.. I have some that lay in the afternoon
I do too! I even have some that lay in the evening. The problem is i can’t figure out which one is doing it. I do know it’s one of the Ameraucanas.

Aww man I will feel bad for them. The one problem is she doesn’t have a problem laying eggs in the floor of the coop either so what do I do about that. One day I find it in the coop floor covered in poop the next on the ground covered in mud :ththis is why I’m at a loss

My Ameraucanas are off too. Took everyone till 1/20 to start laying again. But my Ameraucanas—one laid 3 eggs so far. The other has yet to this year! I got a few eggs from my mixed breed girl and my (old) leghorn but they quit on me too. Only the leghorn is older. Both Ameraucanas and mix girl just went through first molt.
:barnie:he:th
Everyone seems fine. Eating and pooping for sure. No boggy bellies or (overly) dirty butts.

What gives!?!

I thought they all lay in a cycle, a little later each day, and maybe skip a day and then start in the morning again.

How much light do they get , have they been dewormed and do they have mites or lice?
