DH said, why don't we go to Shoneys for brunch before the movie?! I said NO WAY.... I never miss Anansi's breakfasts! :hugs

11AM and everyone is just now getting up. The bed seems to work OK as a bed... not sure if it's comfy since I had some help sleeping.

MOVIE DAY!!!!! :wee Gonna sneak some pics inside the theatre.

Double checked for creepy crawlies today. All good there. But....one of the boys seems to have an issue with his oil gland. I couldn’t get pictures. He wasn’t happy being handled let alone held and examined.
I noticed before he seemed to hold his tail a little different. And it looked like his feathers around where his oil gland is were over oily. So today I grabbed him and looked. It was a little red and I could feel the gland under the nipple part. I squeezed it a little, which he really didn’t like, and dark yellow oil came out. It smelled of strong ode de chicken but not infection.
A search here and I found threads about possible infections/impactions but mostly people who thought it was a growth.
Should I try and express it a little more? Warm compress? I’ll try to get pictures later once he’s gone to roost and everyone can’t see the indignity of it all. I don’t want him to be embarrassed.

I just(as in two days ago) figured out what an oil gland was. When I gave Dove a bath, we found it and were a little creeped out, but decided it was just a funky feather. Two days ago I was researching an unrelated topic and found an article about it. Was very releived!
