Official Squatch Watchers

GOOD MORNING!

Henny, Delilah is super gorgeous! SO glad your DS is gonna put in the time to work with her shyness.

Nunny, is that the black cat that rolled up on your property around Halloween last year?
Nonetheless, makes me feel bad we didn't adopt the black cat we saw at the PetSmart when we got Thunder Monkey.

DH and the PIC want get puppies when DH retires. I agreed, but I want no part of it. I am done with raising and training animals from babies. The puppies are coming after DH starts his retirement so that HE can be in charge of training as I want no part of it.

Once they have *their* puppies, we have agreed that we will start adopting dogs that are the ones no one wants..... too old or too sick for other people to wanna take care of. AT first, DH didn't quite understand WHY I would want to do that to myself. You know, love a dog but maybe only have them for 6 months or a year or 2. After I explained it to him, he *kind of* understood. Then, when we adopted Ocean, he saw a lonely dog at the shelter that was about 8 years old, and he totally fell head over heels... but by the time he talked himself into asking about the dog, he had passed. I think THEN he understood, it isn't about US or how WE feel, but he understood that no animal should have to die without a family.... even if they only have a family for a short amount of time. They all should die knowing they are loved! :)

Anyway........ moving on...........

The Kia is wonderful.... but the check engine light has already come on!! HayZeus, can I catch a tatering break here!!! Luckily, we have one of those diagnostic thingies here at the house, simply cause the check engine lights of of the ZombieMobile comes on so friggen often.... and it is ALWAYS about the BRAND NEW O2 sensors...

Well, my friends, we pulled out the big old tiller last night, and the ground is so wet and made of CLAY that we can't till down for taters! Ran into town for a 2nd time to pick up lumber to make a quick raised bed for the strawberry plants. They HAVE TO go into ground today.......

Quick survey: Are you of the mindset that you can always get something done tomorrow? Or, do you have the *let's get it and get it done* mindset? Would you run into town 2 or 3 times in one day to finish a project or just push it off?

And last but not least, got a call last night from DHs sister. Apparently she and her family (her son, her boyfriend and his daughter) are going on spring break down to Georgia to visit family the end of March, and she wants to swing by and pick up the PIC. Be gone for5-6 days or so.

Hope everyone is gonna have a terrific Sunday!!!!!
Hey Smuv!
You know i like to get things done, but not going to town for stuff more than once in the same day. Hoping to work on a cold frame today. Hope your strawberries do well.

PUP DATE.......

She was up several times during the night. Potty outside was scary for her but she did it.

Standing near her causes her to shrink away. Laying down on my belly near her she actually played a bit with me.

Being down very low seems to be the trick.

Whatever it takes is what we will do.

Smuv,
I have taken in old dogs before myself.
It is both heartbreaking and rewarding at the same time.
Suki was 11. She had horrible seizures and food aggression. She lived to be 19 and the last 4 years were nearly 100% seizure free.

Would I do it again? Yes.

Good morning my friends!

I just want to say, I am grateful for all of you, and am so glad that I met you all here! I love my Squatchy friends. I think we are a really kick-butt bunch of people. I look forward to hopping on here daily and seeing what everybody is up to.

I love us. :love :hugs :love :hugs

I hope everybody has a really, really good day!

(and now I'm gonna go candle my Day 10 eggs, cuz....I just HAVE to!)

:hugs I am feeling the love, Henny! :D:D

So I just candled my WVDC eggs!!! They are going STRONG (especially the BC's, they are reeeeaaallllyyyy active, they want out!) I have 7/8 definites in the 'bator, and 6/7 definites under Olive. So that is at least 13 little peepers!

WVDC, did your Seramas hatch before your BC's? I can't remember if you said what day they hatched (need more :caf).

This is *so cool*. Hatching has really been therapeutic for me. It sounds stupid, but it has really helped with my depression and given me something to look forward to every day. It's probably no coincidence that when I have lost loved ones, the things that have helped me get through it are new life....gardening and chick incubating....

Seeing those dark little swimming, dancing bumps in a candled egg is truly amazing. It's incredible to watch the process from Day 3 spiders, to now. I can't believe baby chicks are going to come out of there soon. It is half done, already. :love

We need pictures!

I had to get hen feed. My usual store is out.
That meant going to TSC.

Disappointed puts it mildly. The chick feed, layer pellets and more were from September and October. Lots of chicks, lots of pasty butt.

Sadness at that. Breeds were all mixed too.

That is awesome Rae!! Sleep away little MD.
