Official Squatch Watchers

@WVduckchick

Look what I put in my incubator.
IMG_6966.JPG

I decided to put the older dozen in the incubator since some of the eggs were over a week old. I'm hoping my new Brinsea incubator arrives before the other dozen gets too old.

Some of them are more oblong. I candled to make sure they are air sack up.

I have to candle their eggs often when I pull them out of the nest box. Many times I guess wrong, they are so oblong. If you see a little "O" on one end, its one that I candled first and marked to remind myself I checked it. :lol:

I usually set anything under 2 weeks (will set even older, if I have room), but tried to only give you ones 7 days or less. But when I started filling the second dozen carton, I just filled it up with the most recent, so I guess there were a few that were 8 or 9 days since laid.

How's the possible broody one acting now?

I did see several of those Os and guessed what they were for when I candled them.

She is acting very normal, but making "broody noises". I think I'll give her a nest with some fake eggs and see what she does.

I'M BAAACK.... or whatever............

Nothing like coming home feeling like a slug...... you women know what I'm talkin about!

Candled our derps last night and they all look terrific, so very happy with that.

DH herded the 5 Peep flock into the CP coop last night, cause they were all standing in the run, bunched up in the corner that faced their old coop, and just staring at the coop longingly cause they couldn't get to it. Hilarious yet heartbreaking at the same time.

I am totally fascinated by this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/sab-cameras.1225262/

Good to know your chickie is gonna be OK Rae. We found one of the peeps walking around on stumps and have NO idea why! No one got frost bite, even in their combs or waddles... NONE of the chickies. And it isn't anything we noticed like a birth defect... so I am completely confused. It isn't in any pain, no one picks on it (in fact it's kind of a bully) and it's interacting with the main flock just fine. So.... gonna just leave her be.
