Ugh.. spring hormones. Willie, who's never been much of a jerk has actually started to interfere w/ Odin's romancing now. Now I have 2 turds.

Not even 11 am and the weather has driven me inside.

It is 75° and SOGGY at 45% humidity. I am dying in that. It feels like 90 to me.

It was horrible here all weekend too. Why can't we have spring anymore?

83° and 60% humidity here. And it's May.... we are in for a gross summer.

I'm really not looking forward to it either. I went and bought a fan to put in the coop b/c it was so hot. I need to find another window for the other side. Next week appears to be mid 70's so that'll be nice (until they change it to 90's in 3 days).

Thank you! I got them from a lady in Streetsboro OH. Not far from FNF. Thoreau (or Thor as my DH nicknamed him) has started crowing also. It's hysterical.
My coop started as a pre fab and I had a handy man make quite a few modifications. I just added some window boxes/window pots. I'll attach a pic. Im really happy how it turned out. A lot of rain here too .....humid and sticky today

Friday evening I went over to let the ladies out for a bit and who ran out of the coop w/ everyone? Loki. I was so worried that she was abandoning her little egg, but the egg was still warm & she did go back in a while later. I checked it last night and it still has big fat veins so I think we're doing ok. It should be 2 weeks today or tomorrow so we've got just another week to go. Loki looks so hot right now, panting.. I've given her ice water that's within reach so she doesn't have to get up to get some. The past 2 days I was really worried about her. I'm hoping the fan I put in the window will help by at least keeping the air moving around. This heat is ridiculous, but thankfully this weekend it's supposed to break, but not after 3 days of almost 90 deg days & thunderstorms. I need to do something about Odin's space. The tarp keeps filling with water, so I'll need to put a board under it to keep it up some so it will hopefully drain during the storms.

Well good to see everyone is having a terrific morning. Mine started out literally cock blocking, figured out if i distract the dork he forgets about being dumb. And on the strange and morbid front, one of the news anchors here got squashed by a tree not 20 mins after reporting on the dangers of saturated ground.

Wow, That's so sad. Hopefully everyone heeds their warning now. It's like how every year you hear about some kid digging a big hole on a beach and getting buried when it collapses, or digging tunnels in the snow. Around here we're hearing a lot about kids getting run over by mowers & warning parents not to have kids outside while mowing, or letting kids ride on the mower while it's cutting. Soooo unsafe.

Yeah, he was leaving that report location and a huge tree squashed the car. Dude who unlucky reporter was interviewing just happened to be the fireman who responded to the squashing. The universe has an awful sense of humor sometimes.

How morbid is it to say 'At least the rescue guy was nearby'?

Apryl.....I got them from a lady who used to work for the lady that I got all my other chickens from. So I guess you could say a friend of a friend. I plan on letting them hatch some babies once they start laying
