The turkey coop is progressing slowly. Once it hits over 95°, i don't go there. Had a long nap and worked tonight instead. I put extra boards horizontally in the front wall, because the coop is 8 feet tall and the run is 6' tall to use less wire. I really think i should order more wood. After all, another chicken coop is in my future...

Attaching a photo of the procedure done on my left thigh. I got upwards of 2 DOZEN lidocaine shots to numb the area, yet one of the bigger tags didn't go numb... so it hurt when the dr clipped it... AND it wouldn't stop bleeding.

Interesting how much I bruised up though..... I bruise easily, but it's usually a slow bruise... I've never bruised up so fast in my life.....

For those that don’t know what call ducks sound like, I was taking a video of one of my juvies, when something startled them and they flew and got loud.

For some reason, she wasn’t going thru the fence. They go out a little ways sometimes, but don’t venture too far. She had flown behind where I was standing and ended up away from the group. They crack me up.

Sadly, another death today. A little 3 week old quail got its leg stuck in the hardware cloth bottom of the brooder and died of shock i guess.

Well dammmmit.
So sorry.
I probably would have lost a bantam Cochin chick if I hadn’t gotten home when I did. It was stuck in the chicken wire, half way in its own pen, half in another. I had to push its little butt thru. It lagged around for a while after that, but finally got back up to speed.

Who knew that birds needed full time au pairs just to grow up?

You can’t be everywhere at once.
