All these birds need to quit that random dying stuff!!

I am so sorry Cappy.

This morning a poor little dog got hit 2 doors down from me. The guy who hit it was very very shaken up. He started going door to door til he got here. Big ole tough guy totally in tears.
I am glad I am good at dealing with the critical then freaking out in private. I told him I would handle it, that it wasn't his fault, and not to worry.
He moved the poor puppers to a shady spot. I covered it with a towel and got animal control called. That poor man had a really tatery monday.
I covered the poor thing so the owners if they came by wouldn't see it.

God I am glad I went extreme with my fences.

I probably should have kept that part of the day to myself. It really messed me up too.
Poor little doggie.

Attaching a photo of the procedure done on my left thigh. I got upwards of 2 DOZEN lidocaine shots to numb the area, yet one of the bigger tags didn't go numb... so it hurt when the dr clipped it... AND it wouldn't stop bleeding.

Interesting how much I bruised up though..... I bruise easily, but it's usually a slow bruise... I've never bruised up so fast in my life.....

The homeopathic remedy Arnica 200c. Best thing ever for bruises.

Do you know who the owner of the little dog is?

I don’t envy you breaking the sad news to them.
So thoughtful of you to cover it. How horrible it would be to see my dog lying there like that as I drove by.

For those that don’t know what call ducks sound like, I was taking a video of one of my juvies, when something startled them and they flew and got loud.

Gosh my dogs would chase them for sure.
With their quacks and they sideways wags...

When pets are concerned , the bigger the fence, the better (IMO) locks are important as well.

I went 6' chain link. We dug a trench a foot deep and made forms 18" high so the bottom 6" of fence is embedded in concrete. Hot wire around the top and on gates. If they get past that they are met with the secondary fences. All gates have at least a thumb operated hook to keep them latched.

No idea at all who owned it. I had never seen it before. Just totally heartbreaking.
I would crash my car if I saw my dog like that.

Not sure if it's better if they think it ran away and someone has it or to know the truth.

I worked outside for almost 2.5 hours this evening. I divided one of our broody pens in half so I could move my broody Cornish over and give her incubator hatched chicks. Her last egg was also bad so she had no more eggs. So I got her set up in her box. Which I got cleaned out and stuffed with fresh hay and I gave her the 6 incubator babies that hatched last week. I gave her the puffy cheeked oops chick first because that baby isn’t integral to my breeding programs. When she first saw the chick she puffed up and pecked at it with a WTT (what the tater) look on her face and pecked it a few times. She didn’t get it until I shoved the chick under her a few times and held her wings down until the chick stayed under neath her. She then calmed down and got a startled, but happy demeanor as if to say “OOhhhh, this is what I’ve been wanting!” And started making happy broody noises. I then gave her the rest of the chicks. It took a few times of shoving the chicks back under her for them to get the picture, but they eventually settled down and accepted her as Mommy.

We also have had some thunderstorms roll past, but they haven’t really hit us. We are hoping they don’t. Our neighbor cut our hay today. We did get a spectacular double rainbow though!

I've decided that if i have my skin tags removed, it will be at home and numbing up with ice for 20 mins and doing one area at a time. Or I could use emla cream, which is topical rx anesthetic. I won't have it done at Dr office. Tried that once and didn't like it.

Cappy, those birds are gonna have to stop being so creative at doing themselves in.

Smuvey, heal up quickly so you can be comfy again. That looks a bit sore.
