I'm going to have to cage Loki to break her. Last night I only got 5 eggs. She's lost all her belly feathers again. I had to pry her off the nest and close the coop door to keep her outside. When I put her outside she just laid there for a while (til the grass made her belly cool, I assume) then would wander off for a bit then run back to the door to see if it was open. I would consider thinking about giving her a couple eggs if I knew I could find homes for them, and if she wasn't such a turd to the 4 chicks she raised before. They'll be hanging out in a cluster and she runs right at them and sends them scattering. She's like that lady who keeps having kids b/c she likes babies and wants nothing to do with them once they become a toddler.

Unfortunately, none. The tree leaves have turned this strange colour that I believe is called 'green', and the air feels like someone put us in an oven :sick

I can't wait for winter.
Wow. I figured you'd still have piles of it somewhere. I saw a heat map and it did look oddly red up north. It's oddly cool here in NE Ohio and I'm not complaining one bit! It's beautiful. The only sucky part is the mosquitoes.. but I can deal w/ that if I don't need to worry about chickens roasting in the coop.

It's been constant high 70's with no break at night. I'm roasting. Some days even break 80. This weather is for the Texans!

I have the dozen mixed flock eggs ready to go on lock down today at my neighbors' house. I put them in so their granddaughter (who they have on weekends) could watch them hatch. I need to finish cleaning the incubator and I'll go up with the eggs this afternoon.

I just need to confirm they want to keep them or if they want me to take them back.

PS. We need a check in from @Parront, @KikisGirls and @Suzi18
hi all!:frow I'm still alive and kicking. Working way too much. DH and I just bought a fixer upper house around the corner from us. We plan on turning it into an Airbnb. It has a half an acre yard that butts up to ours so we fenced that off and its now part of our backyard.....you know what that means.....more room for chickens. An additional run and coop is already in the works. I lost my CCL to egg yolk peritonitis a few weeks ago.My first chicken loss. She had laying problems from day one and only ever laid about a dozen hard shelled eggs in her short one year of life. She was sweet and I miss her but life goes on. I just got 2 new 4 week old chicks. An Ameraucana and a White Frost.I named them Eleanor and Martha. They are adorable. My Seramas also have started laying...eggs are soooooo cute but still delicious. I plan on hatching some once my new coop and run are built.
I'm not even going to try and catch up as I haven't checked in in weeks so hope everyone is well. I miss you all and hopefully when we get some more help here at work I will have a life again. Haha Love to you all...especially My Luv Smuv :love
