Marlene is my oldest hen! She's terrible to the other girls. Waits until they're getting attention runs over and pecks them in the head. Some mornings she decides to be a rooster herself. So it is all her, can't scold the boys for her bald spot.
CongratsOh ya'll bittersweet day, the Mexican family that were interested in Early came and got him. They were happy about the 5 toes because he can pass genetics to make better chicken feet and he's got such a big body. So he will live and reproduce but for food which is perfect. The other boys are much calmer, adding Cookie actually chilled Negan out I don't know why but i'll take it. So i'm down to 2 roosters from 5.

She is about 2 years old, we got her from the breeder when she was about a year old. Dad is a show dog, mom is from search and rescue lines.I love it!
I also love that sweet dog!
I had a rescue GSD/Belgian sheepdog back in the eighties.
He was a most devoted dog.
Guarded the boys with his life outside.
He was a joy to watch herd them and their little friends.
That dog hated a game of tag.
He would gently pull them by the clothes back over near the garden.
Wouldn’t let them cross the driveway or go near the road.
Ever vigilant.
He was a good boy. Came to us with what had to have been a horrible past as a rescue that they said he would never recover from but he was full of love for us. We had him for seven happy years.
