IDK, but guess when they do have a jury trial, they bring a couple juries in... have no idea how the final is chosen... One day out of the three months they had two juries report to the courthouse, but mine wasn't chosen. What they do is put together as many juries as they can out of the folks who show up and any remaining who don't add up to 12 become alternates. After your three month tour, you get a check for $10 for showing up in the first place and $10/day if you served as well as a thank you note from the judge. If you didn't show up on the first day, you get a summons to appear followed by a sheriff visit which includes hand cuffs and when you appear before the judge, unless you were in the hospital that day and can prove it, it's a $250 fine.

I inherited him. He is my step-grandpa's youngest son. He use to work at Hollywild but the monkey house burnt down and he quit so now he does exotic animal husbandry calls. :)

It has been awhile since iv'e seen a squab....wow. They do look like panty plums, no way around it.:p
Panty plums? :lau

For those that don't have packsaddles be glad! They hurt like a mofo lol! They've got those spines and they leave a slightly caustic trail underneath them. They just turn into a kind of sad looking moth, really weird for such a fancy caterpillar. I don't see them much, and the one Ethel tried to eat is the biggest one iv'e ever seen! They are normally half that size. Ethel is fine BTW, chicken lesson learned "hopefully".:)

My dad would say he was against puppies and babies if it would get him out of jury duty. He even claimed to be raceist against white people once...they still chose him.:lau

He comes from Asheville so he makes maybe an hour drive. I think his range is 4 states, N.C, S.C, V.A, and W.V. :)
Must be expensive!

Hi peeps!

I've been MIA because I've been BUSY and when I wasn't busy I was binge watching Paternity Court on YouTube. I know it is a stupid show but I like laughing at the stupid people (I really just feel sorry for the kids though). Here's a couple hints about what my mom and I've been up to the last few days.

After eating this lovely tomato sauce we made for the last two nights, we were able to can 16 quarts of it and have a quart with meat and 4/5th of a quart that was just not full enough to can, left over.

I'll tell you what, freezing the tomatoes ahead of time saved use a LOT of work. All you needed was to dump the tomatoes in a sink of hot water for a few minutes and the skins came right off. This saved a lot of time when we were running the tomatoes through the food mill because the skins weren't gumming up the works, the few skins that slipped past, were annoying, but easily dealt with.

We will probably have to can this much sauce again later in the season because our plants are still producing, but we had to start a batch because our freezers were full to bursting with frozen tomatoes.
You will have lots of Lasagna!

Stacey,
Jury duty doesn't pay at all. Many people really cannot lose a week or more of pay. I get it.
I sat on a jury selection for a very serious case a few years ago. The judge said it was expected to be a long trial. Many of the jurors were single parents and would have suffered financial hardship if chosen.
I ended up in the back up jury group.
We can't take jury duty pay here. The University pays us our regular wage when on jury duty
