Question:
What kind of wood ash is good for dust bathing?
All natural woods ( pine, magnolia, oak , maple, ( so anything except pressure treated) ?
yes any wood
without treatment,,, or glue
I will add no charcoal briquette ash as it has chemicals.

Exactly why I don’t like the pooper scooper DH uses. The “fingers” are supposed to lift the poop out of the brash but mostly rips up the grass with it.Good point about the squishy poo.
In grass it's a night mare!!
My dogs have run all vegetation out of the kennel. I put 5 tons of pea gravel on one end of my ginormous kennel and 99% of the time they "go" there.

Nope this is plain wood and gumballs and pine cones.I will add no charcoal briquette ash as it has chemicals.

He says it’s operator difficulty. Meaning me.

THANK YOU!Totally not operator issue! In grass they are difficult to use.

I read on a recent thread that hard wood ash is the best for parasite prevention because it has the most lye. From an enjoyment perspective though, my hens are not picky and love sneaking into the trash burn pile (mostly cardboard and paper ash) for a lovely smelly bath.Question:

Thanks! Wonder if they’d like bathing in my old bills....I read on a recent thread that hard wood ash is the best for parasite prevention because it has the most lye. Don’t forget to eat and hydrate!I have a poop hound. It's a rake with the separate thing to hold a bag. Works great except for that change the bag part. Thought about a composter thing but it's best to put it far far away. Not where I want to carry poop to. My sister picks up with bags each time but then has a pile of poop filled bags laying around.
I may have to do some trial and error to see what works best.
Metal roofing comes in 8' so 2' would hang over. I'm worried snow load would just bend it or pop screws.
Not there yet. Off to do coop work!
