She's still alive and took a little water. When I held her and tried for a little more she yelled at me. Poor thing just seems exhausted. So I layed her down and covered her up again.

Is she on a heating pad? She's still alive and took a little water. When I held her and tried for a little more she yelled at me. Poor thing just seems exhausted. So I layed her down and covered her up again.
Hoping she pulls tbrough....I know how heartbreaking it is when they are sick or hurt. Hoping she rallies and pulls throughQuite the harrowing evening. Spent the day on the couch trying not to make my head worse. At 5:30 realized I hadn't gone to work yet. Sped off for that and just as I'm settling in again my phone rings. It's the ex and he says I have a deceased bird in the run.
I head over to the house and get ready to deal with the sad job of disposing of a chicken. Poor Sugar is laying in the run covered in mud. I go over to pick her up and she's alive! Beyond weak but alive. I run into the house and give her a warm bath. She wouldn't even open her eyes as I ran warm water over her. I toweled her off and then sat on the floor in front of a heater with her for a good 45 min or more.
I gave her some nutri-drench and just sat with her. She would perk up and eat mouthfuls of food. Preen a little then seemingly fall asleep.

She's crashed out in a box in the laundry room at the new house. I didn't even leave her with food or water. I'm afraid she'll drown. I'll check her before bed and I'm sure first thing in the morning. Poor sweet girl. I hope she pulls through.
I'm thinking maybe I should just bite the bullet and have a peaked or slanted roof added. The originall guy who started the run cemented in the center posts then promptly cut them at 8 feet. I was so tatered when I got home and realized what he had done . I'm thinking maybe alternating metal and clear corrugated roofing panels so it let's light inFNF Best hopes for sugar
Suzie, bowl on a pole is your best option short term. Given your width, you're going to need some sort of center support long term. I would go with poles and a beam and then attach cattle panels from both sides. A cattle panel is 16' long and a little over 4' wide.
Is she on a heating pad?
First-- she's alive!Morning all.
I’m behind in my morning chores because I slept in a little. Wow I haven’t done that in months.
Got up in the middle of the night because cooper had to go out to pee, so he didn’t get up at his usual 5am.
AWESOME!
I’m wondering how Sugar is this morning?@FlyingNunFarm
When you say she was covered in mud, how did that happen?
Was it just rainy or did she get stuck somewhere?
Was she attacked?
Have you examined her for injuries?
