Sigh, why does Negan insist on snorting the ash pile? He's such a pretty boy until you see those ashy nose holes. Guess it is q-tip time...again. Wouldn't have noticed but I was taking photos of his feet and of course they're ashy too. Since he's been molting he is pretty much married to the ash pile, guess he is itchy.:idunno

Looking for suggestions......I've recently added a very large run to my existing coop and run. ( 32x18). Harware cloth on all sides and the top as well as a 16 inch apron all around. I'd like to cover a portion to keep out rain and snow. I'm thinking just clear tarps for this year but not sure how to attach them. I also bought several rolls of shade cloth/fence cloth to put up on all sides to keep out wind and snow this winter Anyo e else tried this? If so ...how well did it work?.Any suggestions on how to tarp the top....I cant really climb across the top to do it Here are some pics of progress over the last few weeksView attachment 1552966 View attachment 1552967 View attachment 1552968 View attachment 1552969
That looks amazing!

I'm just going to leave this here.

Awwww! Congrats on the new addition! & Congrats on the house situation!

I'm thinking maybe I should just bite the bullet and have a peaked or slanted roof added. The originall guy who started the run cemented in the center posts then promptly cut them at 8 feet. I was so tatered when I got home and realized what he had done . I'm thinking maybe alternating metal and clear corrugated roofing panels so it let's light in
If you use the panels, maybe prop them up a little in the front so the snow/ rain will run off the back side.

Morning ya'll.

Sounds like the grandbaby is doing ok. Even if he's not doing great at least he's ok. :hugs

We have already seen our high for the day. A whopping 35°.
:hmm

We have family in the path of the hurricane. Lots of family.
My stepson, his wife, 2 sister in laws, a step niece and her hubby and 2 sons.
They all live in Panama City Florida.
It sounds like everyone there is prepared. Just a bit scary.
That is horrible. Does it usually get this cold that early?
Is your family staying, or will they evacuate? I haven't really seen any news besides they're expecting it to be a cat 3.

I love owls. That looks like a little screech owl. They stay small like that. Fascinating animals.
If they stay that small, I definitely need one, maybe 2.

Good morning, hope everyone has a great day.
I found out my younger son is going to be a Dad! Super excited.
Congrats on your new grandbaby!

Pretty hard to get a picture where they live, but if she brings them out in the open i will try.
What a convenient place to hatch some eggs.

Good morning! @FlyingNunFarm Sugar looks so much better! Guess taking a load off is just what she needed.:)
@apryl29 love the little screech owl! Cute little things, they look like toys to me. I watch a pair on youtube, Olivia and Alton.
I'm so following that!

No suggestions for @TexasSam, @rjohns39 or @FlyingNunFarm for your medical questions, but hoping for everyone's recovery.
Congrats to @staceyj & @Anansi on your badges.

Chicken feet photos? What an odd fetish.

Cappy, congrats on the grandkid! and yes, definitely need pics of guinea babes.

I'm not sure I'll ever be a grandma for my kids, but I've got 2 awesome step granddaughters, and the family friend's little girl, plus I'm not fussed about it anyway. I'm busy content having 4 totally awesome kids. Even as adults they keep me busy enough, plus looking for a job and taking care of the animals adds to the chaos. That's part of the reason I consider a job a vacation... unless it's at a crappy place.

Nunny, Sugar is looking almost normal again, and she's snoozing just like she would on a perch in the coop. She would probably love to be an indoor girl but giving her her own part of the run would work, too. Just remember to make it movable so she can get some of the good stuff as well. I can get pics of my food and water containers if you'd like, that way you can set up something similar.

Hope everyone has an awesome day, and that the Panama City relatives are able to stay high, dry and safe. Hopefully this hurricane has less of an impact and precipitation as the last.

Started lunch in the sling. She had me worried. She didn't want to wake up. Then she let loose a smelly poo. I almost had the sling right--just got a wet splarch on part of it. So it's in the wash and we are back to the towel donut. She ate much better after I had to man handle her and really woke her. She got a lot of egg down but is most interested in water. I'm glad she's eating and drinking on her own.

@Anansi I'd love to see what you have for food and water set up. I'm afraid she'll drown. She's so sleepy. She dozes off while eating. I kept moving the food and water at lunch and I don't know if she could hear it move or feel it but I'd move it and she'd shoot her eyes open and start grabbing food. Like a little kid "hey I'm not done!"
