Well I got home last night to find Gladys has thrown herself out of her sling. Still hanging by her bad leg she was sort of laying on the floor of the crate. (Cause that's gonna help!) Got her situated again and all was well.
Sugar is still alert and doing well but somehow managed to get completely out of her own sling in the night. She was laying under it when I went to the laundry room this morning. Poops are back to normal poop shape. But still unbelievably smelly.
Buy stock in paper towels people cause I'm using truck loads. I've been putting 2 sets of 2 under each girl. One for their feet to have something to stand on, the other to catch poo. I swear no sooner then I clean poo paper towel up and they poop on it again.
Also Gladys keeps tipping her waterer over. I have a chick waterer in there, up on a stand so it's easier for her to reach, its zip tied to the side of the crate-- she sticks her bad foot in it and tips it enough that it drains out! So I hobbled her legs together thinking she wouldn't be able to pull one way far forward and stick it in the dish. Nope! Refuses to stand on her good leg. Is just sitting in the sling with both legs in the air.
I may try and switch crates. Gladys is a big girl and in the sling is almost touching on all sides. Silly patients won't cooperate.
