I had a busy day again. Went and picked up a small coop. The one the D'Uccles were in at their old house.
Then I went to my old house and took apart the carport frame and net to bring to the new house.

Even got it set up. The net is a tangled mess. I don't know you are ever supposed to gather it back up.

Someone decided they are a big girl now.View attachment 1581686I thought she way laying because I've been getting 2 cream eggs.

Nope! It was her first egg today! Blue green!!!!
Oooh pretty green egg

It got down to 34 last night and we had a hard frost. The piggies didn’t want to come out until about 9 am even though it was light at 6:30. They are now happily eating clover and exploring their pen. They are 2.5 months old and really tiny.

The hog panels seem to be working fine for now. I don’t know how I would get a hot wire over there. We’ll be keeping an eye on them for now.
I have pigs one is 18 one is 16 and the other is 12

NO!
They had one of those companies in the town where I used to live -that did Home poop scooping-but within a year the home division had gone OUT of business.
Apparently they also service apartment complexes and stuff.
They probably quit b/c people are horrible to anyone who provides a service. They probably let their dog out, then called and complained that they missed some.

Hey Sammy.
So how many eggs is everyone getting right now? And how many chickens do you have of laying age?
I have 17 chickens...granted 1 is a Rooster and 6 aren't at POL yet, and I am lucky to get 2 eggs a day right now
Of my 11 laying hens, I had been getting 3. 2 from my amberlinks, & 1 from someone else in the big area of the coop, no egger eggs for a while.
Today I was shocked to get 3 eggs from the big area of the coop. I have a lot of molters right now though the amberlinks are molting, but are going much slower, they just look disheveled.. nothing like my egger, though she's filling in and looks a lot better now.

How do you sell your eggs? I'm curious how you guys on here who sell yours do that...like at a roadside stand, in a farmer's market, etc.?

I always give mine away cuz I only have like 2-4 dozen spare a week. But I always wondered how those who actually sell their eggs do it.
I sell my eggs to people I work with. $2/ dz... though right now, with the deworming & shorter days I probably won't have much to sell til spring. Lots of pale combs.

Hey guys. I had a long day today. We set up the hog panel fence and made a piggy house out of a broken water tote. View attachment 1580182

I stuffed the tote with a bale of hay after I took the pictures. This evening my SIL and I went and picked them up. They are so cute. They dived right into the hay when we got them back.

Some scale as to how huge those orpington boys are. He's standing next to my amberlink. This is the bigger of the 2. I did get a video of the other one crowing, but I'll upload that tomorrow. I listed them on craigslist again. I'm really hoping someone wants them. They are enormous and keep trying to mate w/ my girls. They are not gentlemanly at all. No dancing, just grab her by the back of the neck and jump on. I'm worried they'll hurt someone. It doesn't help that all the hens are molting and the 2 pullets aren't laying yet.. doesn't stop those boys though. One thing I can say is that despite their enormous size, they are not aggressive.
