Mice can and do fight brutally with their own kind.
As a kid I had a couple. Mine were both males and did ok in a long tank. My friend had 2 females and man would they fight.

Morning everyone.

We are chilly here today. We wont get out of the low 40's.

Making a big ole pot of chili to fend off the cold.
yesterday was old fashioned chicken and home made egg noodles.


Question for our bakers.......
Have you ever frozen banana bread?
I have nanners needing used but don't want to make bread just to have to throw it out.
There are enough nanners for three loaves.

You can just freeze the bananas. Peel them and toss them in a bag then in the freezer. When you want to use them thaw and use like usual.
My chickens like frozen bananas too. If you decide not to bake with them.

We're low 40's here today. And tomorrow they're forecasting rain, but the tv is showing snow! :barnie I'm guessing Nunny is MIA b/c she's trying to get stuff done before it gets here. She always gets hit harder than we do here.

Soooooo I got the rat out of the hole. I was wrong, I'd had it by the back leg, not the head. The thing is HUGE! Of course I took a picture.. Anyone want to see?
ETA: it's on a garden rake for scale.

It's at least 8" long. I packed the hole in and I figure if there is another one it'll dig out the hole. I also caught another field mouse.

Roof rats are very big!

They reproduce very quickly too. There are babies somewhere

X2 what FNF said about freezing bananas. Whatever you do, do NOT put them in a reusable container. It will infuse anything you put in it w/ a banana flavor. My mom put some bananas in a plastic tupperware container and froze it, then she put spaghetti in it after she used the bananas and the spaghetti tasted like bananas. It was horrible.

My mom always freezes some banana bread. She wraps it in foil before putting it in a plastic ziploc back b/c my dad says it tastes like plastic if she doesn't put the foil on. Otherwise, it freezes fine. Just sit it out to thaw before eating.

Putting bananas near chocolate chip cookies will infuse the cookies with banana flavor too.

It is weird tasting but not terrible.

Good to know about the migrating scent and flavor.

I don't feel like baking today anyway. :p

I have to.many other things going on.

Like the giant quilt needing basted and quilted.

This one is more of a queen sized. It's about 86x92. Just guestimating there. I would have to spread it all back out to be more exact.
On my full sized bed it will go from the bottom of the box spring to the bottom of the box spring on the other side.
Actually that measurement should be pretty accurate. Just did the math for the borders I added.
