Well, I've reached out to my lawyers and yes I'm liable for the car damage if they can match him to me. and my farm policy doesn't cover this sort of thing. So as rude as it sounds, the driver can use uninsured motorist coverage and I will remain silent. Am I being a bad person?
Did you have “missing pig” signs up everywhere?

Hey guys! Just popping in to wish you guys a(late) merry christmas, and a happy new year! We're dealing with a red tailed hawk lately. I came home from school last friday to see it standing on top of one of our orpingtons. I may or may not have irrationally charged it with a broom. The remaining six are now confined to the space under our sunroom. Luckily we got them one of those huge flock blocks for such a time as this. Our goldendoodle puppy, Hunter, has grown much, in size and in destructive capability. Many toys and candy bars have suffered under his reign. I am currently procrastinating a DBQ essay that our AP U.S. history teacher decided to assign us over break(not cool, man.) So yeah. That's what's happening over here. I miss you guys, but I'm still going to be keeping a low profile on BYC. Hope you all are doing well!
Awh. I missed Ruby being here....

Yep, still here Stacey. We just got our SUV back from 2 weeks at the shop, and I'm back to teaching DD#4 to drive after 6 mos of not being able to drive it. It took that long for DH to finally take it to the shop to get the suspension fixed. Fortunately, DD#4 didn't forget everything, so we didn't have to go back to the beginning, but we did have to take a few steps backward. She did really good, though, so I'm happy.
Oh gosh. I’m so glad to be finished teaching kids to drive.

Morning.....still fighting illness here. DH came home sick as a dog last week after spending 2 weeks in Europe. Hes still coughing. I came down with the flu on Christmas day, felt a bit better yesterday morning , then it all went downhill. Now I have very swollen tonsils and conjunctivitis (better know as pink eye). Yuck!
Oh no! That’s a house of misery! Take care of yourself!

You're right. I'm just new to this world. Until recently I was a city girl. Now I'm out on 6 acres in the country and have chickens.lolol I'm coming around to your way of living, and I like it!! :)
Hi there Annamarie, My flock is an “urban flock” and they live a very happy and pampered lifestyle.
I look at their eggs as the best, most special part of any recipe I am cooking up.
When I collect them, I can usually tell who laid them because you come to be able to identify the nuances of each hen’s eggs.

If I’m outside when they are laying I always thank them by name and make a bit of a fuss over them.

The production of an egg is such a complicated and fascinating achievement, I would never let them go to waste.

Good morning all.....can I just complain for a moment?......
Oh good I knew you'd all say yes......

Christmas day came down with fever, chills and extreme fatigue. This lasted 2 days.......then the sore throat and congestion........now absolutely no sense of smell and my ears are plugged. Everything is started to loosen up so hopefully this means good things. Ok....done complaining.

I'm making my spring chicken wish list. .....I'd like a BCM, another OE, an Isbar and 2 EE bantams. There are many more I'm interested in but that's my hope for this Spring. What's on y'alls wishlist????

Good morning suzi!
It sounds like you need some mucinex!

I’d like to add a couple maybe.
No more welsummers for me.
I want something with tough feet, and not broody, and maybe add a pop of color to my flock. Friendly... good at getting along...
Maybe I’ll have to choose by process of elimination!

Oh MAN! You sound super sicky.
Keep your fluids up and take whatever medicine relieves your symptoms. Plugged up ears and sinuses are just miserable.

Maybe a good steam shower can help some too.

I am not adding any birds for a while. Having over 20 is more than I need. I plan to let my flock dwindle to around 10.
