In Seattle it is "10 months of the year" chickens nightgown. I love it! Now that Seattle allows chickens, I don't live there. Just my luck.

I'm not saying it isn't a bad thing. This time of year it wouldn't be good unless it was in the 60s. But it isn't my method of first resort. If you have a determined broody, you may have to resort to it. I've seen people advocate ice water dipping which I think might be a bit extreme except during The hottest summer days.
All hens want to cool off when they are broody, that is the reason they sit on eggs, and turn them. Parrots will get in the water, so will all the other birds I have had. Dylan is great at the "Stomp" bath. I know she wants to lay when she gets in the water. I cut down on her daylight and no eggs!

@BantyChooks , Tucks isn't actually laying. Iv'e gotten maybe two eggs in a month from her. She is just choosing to ignore all that and do it anyway.
Her comb just noticeably pinked up this morning, i'm guessing the warmer than usual temps have scrambled her brain.:)
Really?? Wow. Usually I get at least a few eggs right before they brood.
