Official Squatch Watchers

the first year I bought chicks I bought 2 bbb poults also
the br cockerel was in love with the bbb jennie :idunno
she hated him and would throw him off and chase him around... kept her in shape :gig

He was a jerk at a young age....he would go around thumping the other chicks on the head, until they ran away crying...at 6 wks old... then he thumped the bbb. The turkey stood up and thumped him back... he ran away crying:lau
At 8 wks he grabbed my wrist and twisted.. I had a beak shape cut that bled... he ran before I could react... :rant
I knew right then he bought his ticket to freezer camp, leaving in 8 weeks. :smack3 1/2 lbs dressed.. first bird I was glad to send to camp
Annoying cockerels taste better!

Nunny, I'm very sorry about Gladys. You have her a good life, and the best chance of improvement that anyone could. I was hoping this day would come later than sooner, and I know you were, too. You did the right thing for her, and I know she was grateful for every bit of care and love you have her. :hugs:hugs:hugs

It's ok really. It just stinks to have to be the one to decide enough is enough.

Watching her closely today it is clear her quality of life is very low.
She has walked into everything she could, fallen in the dogs water dish twice, tripped on everything to low to walk into and had more bump ins with the dogs than I can count.
Yeah pretty miserable way to be.

@staceyj I suspect your special friend has been suspended. His profile page is no longer view-able and there's no option to start a conversation. Not that I'd want to, but those are tel tale signs. He's been trolling a lot today.

I think he changed his settings so his profile is not viewable.
Yeah, he changed his settings on his profile after he got deleted from the one broody flu thread.
Kinda bummed today.

Our old cat is officially blind and failing. :hmm
Tomorrow will be her last day.
Seventeen is a pretty long life I guess.
:hugs

Oh my.
I don’t know whether to be glad or feel sorry for the poor jerk.

Well.

If he ever figures out why nobody on the playground wanted to play with him, maybe he’ll come back and play nicely.

Eggs are wonderful things, and you'll learn when each hen had laid one. Some will tell you they are in the process, then you can try something even more amazing, catching one before it touches the ground. My Gurtrude sounds like she's half dying when she lays, so I've managed to catch a good dozen or more. Of course it's easier when the hens live inside the house. You do have to get over the fact that they come out wet with bloom, which is a protective coating that absorbs in to the shell quickly. The bloom is also what allows unwashed eggs to sit for so long without refrigeration.
