How is all the house prep coming along?
I am excited for you!!!
We should be signing papers this week or next week for the construction loan, then we will be moving forward with ordering the house and getting a site assessor out here to look at the property and where we think the house should go. I am also very excited. We should definitely be in the house a few months before baby comes, which will be a nice change to moving during and after pregnancy. We moved my in-laws into this house a few days before I found out I was pregnant with Thing 1. During the pregnancy, we moved a bunch of their things and our excess things here, worked to clean and get repairs made (the foundation wall in the basement was caving in) to my in-laws house in Maryland so we could sell it. We were still living in my in-laws house when Thing 1 was born. We moved to WV when he was a bit over a month old. We finally got the house sold in October... ish, about year after we moved my in-laws out. That was a tough year.

I am super happy for you! It's wonderful that you are going to be able to be in the house before the baby comes.

Moving is hard under the BEST of circumstances.
I’m really hoping the next few months go super smooth for your little family.

It’ll be so nice once you get into your own home!

I can see that it is a lovely shade of light blue with a hint of green. I think it looks fantastic!

I miss colored eggs.....

I did see some blue ones in the store! Boy howdy they were proud of them! Not paying a buck each when 4 eggs in the carton were white or brown.
I wish I could get $1 each for my blue eggs. I'm living in the wrong part of the country.

Good morning folks :frow
Bundle up today!
It’s cold out there.
28 here. That’s chilly.
I don't even know the temp, I just know it was cold enough that my car doors didn't want to latch this morning. I even sprayed window deicer in there and ran my car for 20 min... I hate winter.

Morning......I have to show you all the cutest little egg one of my Seramas laid. It even has speckles! Its next to other eggs for comparison. Even my Cochin Bantam eggView attachment 1639171 View attachment 1639173 looks big next to it
:love It looks so tiny!

Do any of you get the Chicken Chick newsletter? I just got mine via email and there is an article on the New Castle Virus outbreak in S California. They call it the grim reaper virus. Sounds horrible!
That sounds really scary... so if I'm reading correctly, as long as you keep a closed flock and are super careful about keeping other chicken people away from your birds & wear different clothes & shoes to your coop, they should be ok, right?

Morning squatchers. I beat you all in the weather department. :old
At least it's going to be above zero....
 How many feet of snow are you working with there?

Not many this year. :yesss: Two, maybe.
It snows more when it's warm, i.e. near 30F.

Yeah, while we are living in a house on our own (with my in-laws) it is my parents house and it has a lot of issues. When the plan was to take over this farm house from my parents, I felt invested in it. Since we started the process of getting the land and looking for a house, I've really disconnected emotionally from this house.
