Official Squatch Watchers

Any idea how old they need to be before they can "produce" babies? They are 8 weeks old

At 12 weeks a doe can conceive. I would maybe separate him until he is neutered.

12 weeks is coming up quick! It is super hard on them if that happens.

Back when I had bunnies the raptor rescue wanted me to raise kits to 6 weeks for flight training rehab birds.

Why 6 weeks and not bigger? At 6 weeks they will run but cannot gut a hawk when grabbed like adults can.

That said a doe not in the mood for a males attentions can gut the male.
:th

I let those dirty old birds get away with alot. They keep me from eating farty supermarket eggs, that is the trade off.
When the newtons are buy one get one it isn't nearly as painful.
I love fig newtons too much to let any dirty old bird eat them. :gig

I know! The limit is four packages so I have the hubs shop separately and stock up.
I do that with most things that get eaten fairly quickly or staples that I can pantry for a long time.
Comes in handy on short paycheck weeks, snow weeks or if someone just needs food.:)
Ooh, sweet deal!

Same.

I plan on having the boy fixed in a few weeks. Sure as taters don't want baby bunnies. I told Cappy I got bunnies but she gave no reply at all. Maybe she doesn't care for Dutch bunnies
Oh good. I'm not sure how old ours was when we got him fixed, but it was early on.
Just know your doe will probably have imaginary babies at one point. Ours did, she pulled out all her belly fur and started attacking the boy to protect her 'babies'. We had to separate them and put her in a quiet room so she could go through the process.
