Just let the dog out and I'm his new hero... he walked over to an ice covered bowl, licked it a few times and looked at me... I busted the half inch layer of ice on top and he went to town. Wagging that tail constantly.

Rant away. It happens every single time there's a day w/ inclement weather here. Then at the end of the year you get a bunch of people who complain when we have make up days b/c they are morons and plan their vaca to start the day after school's out. We always have make up days. I don't remember a year we didn't have a least one. And we know when we've used them all up, so it's not like it's a secret. People are the worst.Today, too many parents defer parenting to the schools and too many administrations believe that's the way it ought to be. Whoa be the parent who expects the system to follow their wishes and expectations. Sorry for the rant![]()
Yeah.. that's excessive. Like when they suspended that little boy b/c he brought in the handle to one of those knife horderve stabbers. We recently had a boy near here who shot his younger brother to death b/c he had problems.. The older one was 13 and the younger was 11. You wouldn't expect it to happen, but he got a hold of his grandfather's gun.. the other day a kindergartener was caught bringing a gun to school. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...n-ohio-school-columbus-police-say/2568146002/Honestly kids are great but i'm glad I don't have to deal with all the complications that come with them these days.
Use to be if you missed too many days kid just failed or possibly got summer school.
Now they get super p*ssy and threaten the parent..wtf?
Little boy across the road "he's 5" said he'd kill another little boy, school told his grandpa they wouldn't call the authorities this time....he's flippin 5.![]()
Something similar likely happened with Grandma's Monkey. My monkey only ever bit me once, when i grabbed her in the TV studio. I just finished telling the Star of the show not to open the cage and he did! I grabbed her because i was afraid i would never get her down with the wires and high ceilings in that place.

He should be worried! Dust off his Resume for him and update it to be ready....Yeah, I know this very well! Plus his workplace has a strict no filming rule for employees and visitors.
The plant just got sold to a Japanese company and they are already cracking down on dumb stuff as is.
He seems to think since he's been there 20 years and is sooo smart he's not replaceable.![]()

We are almost up to Sweatshirt weather here!read thru the posts and now too cold to reply. Sorry.

A fine example of Murphy's law... any change for the better will always happen after it's too late to affect you. I remember one time when I was a kid we stood outside waiting for the bus for 3 hours. Collected 8 other kids b/c we were the last stop and everyone dropped their kids off there b/c they thought they missed it. Nope, sub driver wrecked 3 times and it took her that long to get us picked up. And of course none of the parents wanted to bother driving the 7 miles to the school. Of course they were all nice and warm inside their homes. I've suffered, I don't feel like my kids need to. It doesn't build character, it just makes great fodder if they want to become comedians. At my old elementary school the Principal bragged that in 50 years they never closed once for weather. After I graduated, I read school closings and sure enough it was closed during cold/snowy weather.
