Official Squatch Watchers

Poor kid. I hope whatever it is passes quickly & no one else gets sick.
Me too. I just had an idea. I'm sending him next door to see my parents. They have central HVAC. The cold house, along with him having a fever, isn't a good mix. So They'll watch him while I work.

I looked like an eskimo, slept in my toboggan and robe under two quilts.
She's a good chicken, my normal temps roast her and she's got enough problems.
Klaus is probably just wore out, no telling how long they beat on her.:(
It was a whole -4* when I checked on them this morning. I forgot to check the coop thermometer, but it felt warmer inside than it was outside. I didn't see Klaus when I went it, she was in the caged off area under the poop board standing on the floor and was puffed up. I offered her scratch and she barely looked at it then moved up the the roost in there. I offered her some scratch in my hand and she half heartedly peck at it, but didn't eat any. She had some food in her crop so either she ate this morning or it's there from last night. I'm going to go check on her at lunch time. It should be warmer in there by then. Her comb looked fine. No bleeding, & didn't look like it had been messed with. I'm hoping that her current condition is just b/c she's lost a little blood and is cold. I think I'm going to pick up some nutridrench this evening and see if that gives her a little boost.

That would definitely be an interesting way to wake up. You must have warm feet.

Wow, you are a much kinder person than I am... Not sure I'd be willing to freeze for a chicken, but maybe I'd be convinced w/ enough blankets.

"It kinda seemed like everyone knew-knew each other, like in real life."

What?? This isn't real life??

Well CARP!
That’s true Henny. I think from the way you guys had such an easy banter that YOU DID all know each other IRL.

She is a sweet little girl. She's been stretching out that sore side this morning, you can tell it dosent feel good.
She makes the same sort of faces I do when i'm sore.:p
Oh! Like when I slipped and fell in the bathtub the other day! :th
gotcha!
Lesson learned.
If you’re goal is to soak your feet #inpeace :eek:lol!...
Put cooper in his crate and Sam in another room! :barnie

And I thought the cat that had kittens between my feet in the middle of the night was bad... I moved them.when she was done... And she kept moving them back... Ended up compromising by putting a cat bed next to MY spot under the covers. She was a stray I took in.
That’s a sweet story!

Haha! You tried to do something in peace...that is cute!:gig

Well. I had a carp night too. At 3:45am, Thing 1 woke up saying he was all done with his water bottle. I turned his heating pad back on and laid him down. He tossed and turned for another hour (I had his music machine on to try to help him get back to sleep but every time I turned it off he started wiggling again, and I couldn’t sleep with the music playing) when he got up asking for Mommy cuddles. At that point, I decided to bring him to bed. No sooner do I get him settled then he starts puking. Thankfully, it was pretty much all water. We get some towels under him and he is right back to sleep on the pukey pillow. At this point, I notice he has a fever too. So I get a towel between his face and the pillow and let him sleep. I didn’t manage to get back to sleep until 5:30. He woke me up at 6:45 saying he had a boogie nose. He still has a fever, but is acting normal.

I just want to go back to sleep, but I need to get up and work. Grrr.
That’s the part of being a mom I don’t miss.
The puke!
On the other hand it would be nice to be able to make your big kids feel better from afar.....
