Official Squatch Watchers

I'm hoping that no one reports my culling article. It is the sort of thing people need to know how to do, even if it isn't exactly palatable to some.

I was thinking I needed to wait until I had a chick that needed to be culled, but I think that would have been too graphic, especially for the audience I'm targeting. I think the "Peep" bunny worked pretty well.
Rae I think you’re definitely in the clear.
And using the bunny peep took the edge off a sad and sobering part of chicken keeping.

I’m prerty sure they would have not allowed photos of “the real thing”.

You need to message whoever’s in charge of the calendars then.
I did......the same time that I asked why my friend badge disappeared. I got no response. Zero. Nada. Nil. I know my message was read because my friend badge reappeared but no reply about why it disappeared or about why I never got my calendar

Ok hmm that’s weird.
Someone isn’t doing their job.

I read there was a glitch while updating something that zapped a lot of friend badges.

Could be. It doesn't really matter now cuz I've already bought a new calendar but why have a contest and offer calendars as a prize if you aren't really going to give them out.

:hugs
Not everyone can, but with as many chicks as I hatch, I can't afford to spend $50 or more to have a chick put down. I was already versed in culling roosters, but they are usually obnoxious and I don't feel as bad about culling them. Culling hens and chicks is hard.

I haven't culled a hen yet.... only sold 3.. that's why I am hip deep in hens :barnie

Not sure how this works..... like I'm not supposed to talk about it or what.

It was deleted due to concerns of it being toxic.

I understand that if use incorrectly there could have been problems. I would hate for someone to make a deadly mistake.

I wish I would have been notified before it was deleted or asked to explain the method more or be more specific.

The friend who suggested it and help me set it up is a chemist. He's no fool.

And my birds lived in the coop with it burning for 3 days straight.

I know it's their site and they make the rules.... but to not msg you when they did it is just weird and rude .. at best....
I can see why beekissed left

I’ve sold at least 2 dozen hens/ pullets but most of them were from breeds I didn’t want anymore or were pushing 2 years. I’ve only culled one hen, and she was the lame, wormy chocolate Orp hen I bought.

I've culled a few and held others while they died. The first and last have been the worst for me. Not that any of them were what I wanted to do.
I'd like to make a gas chamber. (Not my heater) But a large container I can put them in and walk away to come back and find them seemingly asleep.

Yes I made a bad joke.

:highfive: For the gallows humor.
