I have a bit of a mystery. Last summer I bought a Black Ameraucana and a Frost White from a very trusted breeder. The Ameraucana has been laying pretty blue eggs for about a month now but the Frost White recently started laying and her eggs are sage green. What the heck. I thought Frost Whites would lay a blue egg. She is supposedly a Leghorn Legbar mix. She looks exactly like a Frost White should look including yellow legs. Shes all white with a crest just as she should be.

I had an leghorn/EE that laid a mint green egg.

Hey guys, I finished a second article. Can you guys look it over for me?

In an aggressive breeding scenario, it will be obvious that the rooster is actively hurting a hen when he is mating her. Often, hens will not squat for a rooster that is aggressive with them, so he will us force.

I had one rooster the hens hated, the main roo hated. Main roo usually chases but quits right away, he chased him every chance, ignored the other.... There were 2 sons and the dad liked the other one...I liked him, he was 1/2 cx and did everything right that I seen for over a year.. put him in his own coop for spring, when summer came I opened that yard up to the main yard. He abandoned the hens who didn't like him. Not many of those eggs were fertile anyway... He moved himself into the main coop.... at 2 I started having hens w/torn up sides.. I ate him and no more torn up sides.

Ok I have a question....

Any of my dear squatchy friends have "Whiting True Blues"?

They are from Murray McMurray.

I am looking to order birds so I can have fresh layers next winter. Very curious about that bird type.
I have a similar type of them from Whiting that were made into a BBS breed by grad students in a poultry program.

They are human avoid ant but very good layers of nice blue eggs

Thanks Ron.

I am good with having birds that prefer not to be handled.
I have had rotten luck with EE's so thinking these may be an option.
Maybe the true blues and CCL's.....and true greens.....and....and...and lol!

My Cochin coop can hold more birds but the run not so much.

Really looking at who stays and who goes. :hmm

Mine are very good layers--They were crossed with leghorns to get them to blue black splash.

A splash hen is in my avatar
