Official Squatch Watchers

Two more mixed kids, one ameracuna and a SS. The SS mix is the last one, I did look and there is still just a tiny tether but it is absorbing quickly in a couple hours it should be fine. That does explain the butt shell.:)
Are the rest pure derp?

I just saw you! Surely somebody in here has told you we are all weird in here all the normal people left ages ago.;)
You can blame @21hens-incharge , she said I would find the best weirdos here. :p I'm not too chatty unless someone pokes me just right. Than I might mumble a bit. :)

@Chickassan shut your mouth! I will not be feeding this chicken from my fingers forever! I have a bowl with dollops of blended meat/veggie, yogurt and softened chick feed. Just scoop it up between two fingers and she just ate a good amount. Like, I am pleased with what she ate.
She has drank a little more water, but there is water in her food.

This lady is like a new hen this evening. She is not flinching like I am going to hit her, she let me hold her and lets me rub her head. It is pretty amazing.

@Redhead Rae I am not optimistic about that bullied hen. I can only base that on my crappy experience though.

Henny was right, we really are the cream of the crop....the weirdo crop. You can chat or not, you'll probably get poked either way.;)

You know i'm just teasing buuut if it helped her that much.:D

Wait! That is weird???

I thought that just meant it was spring.

@21hens-incharge

FWIW I have high clay content too. For all my chicken runs I start by dumping a bunch of chunky organic matter (Mostly straw, but also grass clippings, leaves and wood shavings from the coop) and then use a rototiller to churn and mix it into the soil. We don't have one of our own so we rent one for the day from a hardware store.

For garden beds I use steer manure or mushroom compost, plus chunky organics and turn and mix it a lot. I also like to spread pecan mulch over the top of my flower beds once they are planted. Looks beautiful and breaks down and incorporates nicely over time.

I went and emptied the truck, got shavings, scooped up 4 bags of loose stuff from the straw and alfalfa bays at the feed store (I asked first), petted 3 day old Cayuga ducklings, got Peat moss and top soil for the dusting boxes.
Bitty is happy. She loves new dirt.

We will poke you often! Mumble if you must lol.
I still expect updates on gardens, bunnies, donkeys, goats, kitty, doggies, ducks and of course chickens! :p

Oh and hampsters, parrot, parakeets, fish and any species I missed. :lau:gig:gig:gig
