Official Squatch Watchers

I guess I never posted this from 4 hours ago???
That makes me sad.

That owner started texting me again this morning! I quickly piped him down buy letting him know I was only asking for transparency so I could better treat the hen. Oh my gosh, he is long winded! He either doesn’t have a smart phone for texting, doesn’t proof read or just cannot spell or type. He did offer to give me 3 chicks, but since it seems he cannot sex the chicks, no thanks.
She honestly seems perfectly happy. She's quite the little pistol with me. And the shovel... attacks that thing like she wants to kill it, only when I use it.

Ok she is sounding weirder and weirder. :lau

She comes to me when I'm in the coop. We had a lovely conversation the other day while she happily sat on my arm pecking the snaps on my coat. She prefers people I guess.

Will she not even touch scrambled eggs?
I made her 2 scrambled eggs and she is eating them. I made some yesterday, but mixed it with other food. Thank you.

She has had 4 runny poops today, and I don’t how much more fluid she can lose. I tried to give her Corid/water through a syringe, because she won’t drink it. But she wasn’t having it. I added some Nutri Drench in it, because she seems to like that.

Today has just been crazy. A friend went with me to the neighboring town for a Costco run, but we stopped by TJ Maxx first. She spent 2.5 houra trying on clothes, not paying attention to time. In order to go to Costco, I got another friend to drop my son off at home after school. Got a poop specimen, but 8 minutes too late.

Sounds normal to me! Haha! I prefer animals to people. I will completely ignore someone and go for the pet.

Stacey,
I haven't been battling pop ups.
I get it about Cooper and the garden. I have 20 escaped unruly birds this afternoon. Nothing will survive. Story to follow....
:barnie

Sassy,
That guy :he. I know you will do everything you can for her. Tatering awful that you have to go through all that. :hugs

Nunny,
Some chickens are just more comfortable in the coop. My cochins rarely leave the coop these days. Bitty used to be all over the place.

Ok so how did I end up with 20 escaped birds?
I had the kids in the broody run while I cleaned and treated the coop. At 4 pm I went to put them away. I thought (mistakenly) that the ONE hen on the nest would stay there for 5 minutes so I propped the door open to make it easier. I grabbed 2 chicks, turned around and almost stepped on her! Trying to lure her back into the coop with treats wasn't getting me anywhere. I thought "ok, so I will toss some in the run. The moment I opened the run they exploded out!

I feel better typing all this out, since I don’t any big chicken friends to call. So feel free to skip it. :)

She is eating 4 scrambled eggs. Not sure how much actually gets in her mouth after slinging it around. Also offered buttermilk with oats in a separate dish. She pooped again, but it was clear. 5 times today. Poor baby. Her vent still looks good though.

I want to be optimistic, she is eating. But when I pick her up, she is so boney, and her feathers and dander just fall every where. I treated her feet for mites/lice/etc. they are a little scaley, and I have no clue at this point.

I thought it was funny. Do any of you watch “What Would You Do?” They came to our town last month! I cannot wait for it to air. But look at this response I posted on John’s Instagram today.

I am just beyond words. I know she is NOT what you were looking for. :(
Any birds I have ever sold were in prime condition. I simply cannot wrap my head around someone selling sick birds.
Several years ago I needed to sell a few pullets. I created 3 birds each in 2 2x4x2 wire with a wood floor crates. We wrapped the crates with a tarp to keep the wind off them while we drove. I set food and water in as soon as we got to the swap. Sure enough in comes a truck and trailer with hundreds of birds in tiny all wire cages like turkeys on a truck to slaughter. They all looked sick. :( he parked right next to me! Many of his scrawny, pale combed, poopy butted birds escaped. Yeah, I loaded my birds back up and came home scared that they were exposed to god knows what.
