@Sassysouth This is what I did with Gurtrude when she really wasn't wanting to eat. She dropped close to 2 lbs, and has gained a good chunk of it back.
Take a jar or one of those pouches of baby food in any flavor that chickens can have and mix it with ground up feed that you want her to have. If you can, get it to the consistency where you can roll it in to small balls, it works better. Once that is done, plop her on your lap, love on her and talk to her, and make sure you have a small, marble sized ball of the food in your dominant hand between your fingers. Make sure she is comfortably held down with your other arm, and using that hand, cover her eyes every so often in a way that will let you open her beak. Don't force anything, and be patient, she will relax and you'll get her to open her mouth. When that happens, use a finger in the other hand to hold her mouth open and put the food in the very back of her mouth where she can't spit it out. Don't get frustrated, it takes practice. Whatever you get in her the first few times is good. As you get better with this method, you can start filling her crop once daily, preferably right before bed so that she gets the extra for overnight calories. During the day let her eat her normal food. As she gains weight back she should start eating better because she'll feel much better. I would also suggest giving her some probiotics, I have the HEN BOOST brand, which I like a lot. It's mixed with the water.
Let me know if you have any questions.
