@apryl29 Just what I need...a pig! LOL If they didn't get so big I wouldn't mind. They are very smart. But 300 lbs running around is a bit much.

I did get bad news today. Cause being sick and wrecking my car weren't enough. Only 2 of the 10 chicks I ordered are available. Yep...2! Right now I added to gold laced wyandotte to the order so I have 4. (Those and 2 crested cream legbar) But an hour and half drive for 4 chicks.
So I put in a call to a lady who isn't far away but I have a terrible time getting a hold of. Left a msg explaining what happened and asked if she has any available. My broody mamma is waiting!

What the tater? You ordered forever ago!

I agree with Stacey!
:barnie:he:he

I may cancel my order with or without replacement. I ordered 4 different breeds and somehow 3 aren't available. :idunno It makes me wonder if something is wrong. Some sickness they are trying to control. I certainly don't need more sick birds!
I have folks I'm going to have to disappoint. I've got a red fox that figured out when the LGD is in and when he's out. She's been working my birds pretty hard. AND SHE IS FAT!:he:rant
She could be with kits. Might be why she's fat and eating so much.

Are you saying that nasty beast has been to the buffet?
:th
All of my birds are in permanent lock down until I can hatch some more. I saw her up close and personal the other day. The LGD likes to chase cars, so I bring him in before folks come home. Normally, any time I go outside I have a side arm. But I'm anal. Before I pull the cork on an adult beverage, I put it in the cabinet. So I'm out on the deck enjoying spring weather when the birds sound the alarm. I walk around to see what's up and the fox is trying to get into the old pig pen where one of my hens went in for safety. She saw me and hauled. I brought the LGD out and he sniffed and peed, but no chase. He's smart enough to know not to chase after other canines. He shoes them off with listen to my roar and that's good enough. He's finally learned to do the same with skunks. Anything else comes close to the birds He'll approach silently and kill them on the spot. I have a collection of small fur bearing animals in the compost. He is also funny with aerial predators. He barks, jumps and tries to climb trees. But in the end he convinces them that landing would be bad.

What kind of hens do you have?
