I cleared the snow off the greenhouse. It is cold in there as expected.
The plants I left in there look good still.
Just strawberry and onion plants are hanging out in the cold

Peas, radish and lettuce are all buried in snow.

I battled my way into the big chicken run. The lilacs were all laying across the path.
Everyone is fine. I got a broody growl out of an Australorp. :hmm
And so it begins........

No word on how it's doing. Last night he didn't think it was going to live long. He put it with a chick that also hatched.
Glad I hadn't sold any of the eggs. Bad enough I gave them to byc member. I feel horrible putting him through a footless poult. He has 8 more to hatch. One other had hatched and died right away. Another bycer has 6 one had hatched and was fine. I have 12 hatching Friday.... Worried they are too inbred.
Probably just a mutation. Not your fault.

Turkeys are hard to hatch. I did good with 9 of 15 hatching, lost 2.

Last year I bred hatch mates, hoping they weren't too related. The lady who hatched them from shipped eggs 12/12:eek: , Said she was told they could be bronze, bourbon or palm.
I kept the 6 girls and bred them back to dad. Not sure which hen stumpy came from, but I will be looking for a new tom... And eating all I hatch this year

Last year I set 26 under broody and ended up with 11 at 8 wks

Good afternoon! Feel bad even saying it but it is a gorgeous day! Sunny and already 75 degrees, the kids are going out in half an hour and they are going to loooove it.:D
I refuse to like this post! And I agree with @oldhenlikesdogs :hit:hit

Cappy if they go with Ann for a middle name I suggest Kimberly for a first. It's a great combination. ;)

I was also a large girl at 9 lbs 12 oz. Oddly enough due to my heartbeat they thought I was going to be a boy.
I don't know.....I named a derp Kim and all she does is poop in the water.:p
