Nobody will die, those kids can get into some weird situations but their survival rate is astonishing.
Yay for May eating chick food, the adults here love it like its gourmet or something.:)
I put Bitty and her kids out of the brooder.

:fl That no one dies.

Bitty knocked Peanut around for pecking a kid. She is a tough tiny broody! Peanut weighs almost 10 pounds.

Miss May took the opportunity to eat some chick feed. :yesss: at least she is eating.

I plan to section off a small bit of the big coop and the big run for the older chicks. Hopefully I will get them integrated by the end of next week. Thinking I should take that slow since there are some real meanies in that coop.
:hmm

So far so good with Bitty and the kids.

She has protected them and even had the good sense to go inside when it rained a bit.
I just checked on them and they are listening to mom.

The city has workmen in the alley today. I got curious. Turns out they are going to put in a new pole on our side of the alley and restoring the main power to the house.
:ya
It will get it out of our tree!

They said we will be notified when the switch will happen since they will be in the yard to reconnect us and get the old sagging line out.

I need to go get dog food and chick food but sure as tater don't feel like it.
:hmm I really do have to though.

Hey guys, so I now have an explanation as to why I'm so tired.

My hemoglobin is 8.9 (low end normal is 11) and my ferritin, which is a measure of my iron stores, is 8 (normal is 10-200). I just broke down and bought some dessicated liver capsules to help with this. I can't stomach eating liver.

I am glad there is something you can do about it.
I didn't even know they made capsules like that.

Yup they do. I prefer it over a lot of the other iron supplements because I don't want to get constipated. It is more bioavailable than plant based or mineral based iron supplements.

Good to know. Low iron seems to be a problem with the women in my family. My aunt was recently in the hospital and her iron was so low they were giving it to her in her IV. Looked like they were pumping gravy into her veins.
