Any ideas on how to sleep with a chick?

This little one was an assisted hatch. Got shrink wrapped last minute and I had to help it. Now I'm wondering if the thing is brain damaged. It won't stay under heat and screams constantly. Up at my face with the heating pad on is the quietest it's been. I can't believe it still has a voice.
So when I took William home w/ me I slept w/ him on my stomach, with my hand on him, covered w/ a blanket and he was fine, but I don't move much at night, esp if I know not to move. When I'd put him in his cage he wouldn't shut up. I realized the next morning I didn't have the heat turned up high enough for him. Duh.
It could be that it likes being held, but it could just be that it's cold and is too stupid to stay under the heat.

Good morning peeps! Got up early to wish our company a safe trip and they had just left!:barnie
My latest hatch is 2 Turkey poults. I put them in with chicks that are at least a week old, and those chicks were just too rough. So chicks went into a empty quail cage with a lamp. I went out late last night to check on them and they were fine. But another brooder had blown the light bulb , so I was glad I went out! :love
In other news, our company from Canada went home just before I got up at 7:15 am. Sigh.
I hope it was a good visit!

Last night, all night, this morning....

I'm so tired. LOL At 3 am there was a ruckus in there and I moved 2 companion chicks to the basement. Fed the screamer and put it back to bed. It was so quiet this morning I thought it must have died despite my efforts.

(Of course after all this care and attention it will be a boy.)
Yep! There is a good chance that is a cockerel for sure

:th:he

Yes, great to see them. They fell in love with the baby bunnies. I was wishing they could stay longer. But I also love my own agenda, so all is well.
That is good news!

Yeah, it is totally male. I was thinking that last night and giggled a little bit. :D

Lulu is bathed. She got a pine bath so she smells like a forest.
She isn't happy, she'd only let me towel dry her so she's still very heavy staggering around the yard like a drunk.
I removed her butt city and saw the inhabitants running for the hills.:)

Take it back! :rant
It's a girl! Damn thing better be a girl!

Can I call her Squeaky?

I am glad she is hanging in there.

:fl That it's a girl.

Hubs has an appointment with an endocrinologist this afternoon. I know he is cringing and stressed.
:fl We get some answers or at least pointed in the right direction.
