Henny it shouldn't cost much if anything for a referral, you might even be able to get the ball rolling via phone.
Just explain what you need and anything you'd rather avoid "like an office visit" and normally they'll do it.
Iv'e only had to get nasty about getting a referral once because the GP didn't want to admit he couldn't help and wasn't about to send his failure to someone else.
Yep, I got rude. I got my referral though.

I am betting kitty is hiding near my motorcycle.
No she does not come when called. She takes a message and responds when good and ready.

I called the endocrine doctor. They want a referral from the regular doctor. That ain't gonna happen. I refuse to spend money for him to just send me elsewhere.
I told them that.
Supposedly a note will be given to the endo doc Tuesday when she is back in to see if she will see me without a note from Mr. Useless.
I cannot seem to get my reading below 225.

I had a cat that could open round knobs that swung out...Bathroom door shut and latched properly... couldn't take a bath without him joining me... he also liked water and would climb in the tub and sit in my lap. Also he would open the fridge and help himself, he never learned to shut the door though. Had to put a velcro strap on it to keep it closed.

My Youngest DDs cats are the first ones here to figure out how to open the bi fold doors for the laundry closet. They will lock themselves in the closet!

I installed child locks on the doors this week to stop them from getting shut in.

They are sometimes too smart for their own good

That's nuts Mo. They are supposed to hate water.

He was a crazy cat.. I got him from my brother, who go him from the shelter. I went to visit and in the middle of the night a cat was yelling outside my window. I of course opened the window and let him in... in the morning the cat an I walked in the kitchen and my sil wanted to know how THAT cat got in the house. ... sil had thrown him out for eating ground beef let on the counter (well duh) . Since they were going to take him back I took him home... roade on the dash from Omaha NE to Il like a trooper...
Parents came to visit and they had a truck with a canoe on top... they went to town and people were beeping and pointing to the top. Dad thought something was wrong with the canoe... silly cat was riding under the canoe Dad stayed in the car at the stores with the cat while mom shopped

I am certainly not above getting nasty with them.
I don't have insurance so why would I need a referral???
The endocrine doctor runs a glucose test and A1C when you go in. The PCP would tell me to go spend a hundred bucks on bloodwork and then come see him again only to still refer me over. That means a minimum of one office visit (if I just get the tests first) with him, $270 and $100 for tests then $220 for the endo doc. That is all with the cash patient prices. Not to mention the meds.

Sorry for the rant. I am sick of feeling like carp and frustrated with pretty much everything to do with doctors.

Every time I go to Costco, There is a sales person selling Direct TV! Then the Solar guy...and when leaving the store, the Heating and air sales. It is irritating!

They do that here and I know its direct TV so even though I don't even have TV when they give me that wink and point "Can I ask, who do you..." I cut them off and with "I've got direct TV. Love it." And they have nothing to say. LOL

I tell them I have an antenna and that's all I need

Ya'll are so nice! I tell the cable people we still have an analog television and I just watch the fuzz because it is free.
They really can't wait to get off the phone, they don't like crazy or broke and I combine tbem for maximum you're wasting my time entertainment.

I'd try calling the dr's office and just tell them that your the other dr needs a referral for some reason so you need them to add it to your record so they'll do an appt. If they say you need to come in tell them you'll come in, but you're not paying for an office visit, you just need the referral to see the other dr. If they say they can't do it ask them what you need to do to get your records transferred to another office that will. Hopefully it won't come to that point though.
