Henny, I can't remember the last time I drank a soda. There's only one I like and I only like it from the source or on Ice cream. Everything I drink is bad for you guys though. I drink a ton of unsweetened tea, black coffee and Canadian Whiskey(well maybe not a ton if it). During the summer I force myself to drink Gatorade for the electrolytes. Spicy Clamato Juice is good for replacing electrolytes. But I also have Potassium and Magnesium Powdered drink mixes to avoid muscle cramps.
The DW and I shared a Henry Weinhard Orange Cream Soda with dinner tonight. It was very good!

Oh yes, tickle poop was a new discovery.
These enjoy tickles, the poopers really enjoy tickles.:gig
You hubs needs to stop being a baby and eat his damn bird seeds, worry about liking them later.:plbb

I know!! What the tater ...... Birds like seeds just fine and I NEVER see a post about a diabetic chicken!!!! :lau

I'm being bad.
Mil keeps texting me, but she's trying to text her daughter.
Why she's getting me instead, no clue.
Iv'e told her numerous times today but it hasn't stopped.
I'm just replying as the daughter at this point.
Should have started sooner, i'm having a blast. :lau

OMG the look she will have when she figures it out!

Just so ya'll know i'm not being mean.
I am however expressing "slight disappointment" with her trash talking people.
I'm doing good work.;)

Lots of people need to learn tolerance......good for you teaching her. :D

Sorry the "bird seed" was not a hit with the men folk. :hmm
Honestly, you are much nicer than I am. I probably would have threatened to feed it to them momma bird style if they refused to man up and eat it on their own

My son is open-minded about food so gave it what I would call an honest try. Hubs was making faces before I even handed him the spoon.

For my son it was a texture issue. He has always been sensitive to certain textures so I get it.

Hubs is being a giant baby about any dietary changes.
It's sad really. Kinda makes me want to :smack the tar out of him. Seriously!

I'm really having the best time. She wants to trash so bad, and i'm just gossip blocking left and right. Time she grew out of it anyway, mean gossip is for the teenagers.:p

The old "you got two holes you could eat this with, you don't want me picking which one" threat is always a winner.
Gets a lot of plates cleaned around here.:gig

Lol!!! More bird seed for me! He chose his dad 1/4 cup of Mac N Cheese......the kind in the blue box. ;)

I did manage to get some sauteed squash in him though. (Yes he complained.)

No I didn't make fries. That reminds me I need to give away 10 pounds of fries I have in the freezer.
I may cry after they are gone. :(

:hugs For trying so hard. Changes are difficult at the best of times and harder without support. I am really impressed by your stick-to-it-ness.
And at least your son has a reason. I have certain textures that I do not like either. I wonder if some other whole grains might go over better? I like quinoa just fine but farro is my all time favorite grain. It is kinda like a chewier brown rice. Maybe give that a shot if the carbs aren't too high? I know "semi-pearled" has more fiber than "pearled" farro so that should help. If you are interested, here are a couple of recipes that I particularly love.

(You could easily leave off the bread crumbs and it would still be delicious)

(I use broth for extra flavor and serve with some sausages on the side)

Awww thanks Chooky.

Yes change is hard...harder still if one fights it.

I have not seen farro mentioned before and certainly haven't seen it in the stores.

I will look into it. I have to figure out how to and what to for side dishes now........I won't keep buying his blasted Mac N cheese just to throw 90% in the trash.

Farro is a very old strain of wheat. They should have it at Sprouts as it is becoming increasingly popular. Semi-pearled farro has 30g net carbs per serving. But the high fiber content means it is very filling IMO.

And good luck on the sides battle. I am not very creative most days so I tend to do lots of stir frys, grain bowls and such so I don't have to come up with sides. And tacos. Lots of tacos. I do have a recipe for cauliflower n cheese though

I will check sprouts thanks. I will ask them if I cannot find it too. If it has enough dietary fiber it slows the carbs so definitely worth a look.
