Good morning friends! Missed you all.
I’m back now for the rest of the summer.
DD made it to Cali.
Next on the to-do list is to help her find a gastroenterologist in her area to help her manage her Chrohns. Biggest issue is finding one that does infusions either in their office or somewhere near her location so she doesn’t have to drive to UCLA every six weeks and lose a whole day of work.

@rjohns39 , so sorry to hear about Todd’s injury.
Cooper is also in a cone of shame and going stir crazy as well.

Took him to be neutered Friday and the long and short of it is: yay! they found his missing testicle! But it took a bit of searching.

He has one site where the normal neuter takes place,
But another, 5 inch incision in his abdomen from the big search for the hidden one.

Keeping him “down” has been a struggle since he’s a maniac to begin with.

He’ll be in the cone for a minimum of fourteen days they said, so we have a long ways to go still. I am worried that at some point he’ll figure out a way to get out of it, so I’ve so far been staying on top of him.

Has @Redhead Rae had her baby yet?
:frow hi

mine just wanted babies... in fact one last year had 4 turkey and 4 chickens. She left the nest with the 4 turkeys and left the 4 chicken WHICH WERE PIPPED! I stuck them in the incubator with some eggs that were pipped too. I gave her a turkey and a chick the next night. Everything seemed fine and the next morning she had the chick all bloody and wouldn't let it eat :barnie. but she was fine with the extra poult.. I guess she said this one does not look like the others.
Wow, Poor little chicklet.

Gee when it rains here it's really rains sometimes gully washers but, don't have any gullies here. Plus thunder that shakes the windows. They keep predicting hail and we don't get any. I'm surprised but not disappointed. In Chicago (the first 22 years of my life) it hailed very often when we had thunderstorms. Maybe from being closer to the lake. Not really
Gully washers is the most southern thing I've heard in a while.

He found something (we suspect metal) that he impaled his right rear inner thigh on. It was deep and full of fur. Vet couldn't get all the fur out. So she closed him up and put him on two different antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory. Poor thing has been confined to the house for 6 days already and going stir crazy.
Oh wow. That's scary. Hopefully he stays away from whatever it was. Is he having any trouble getting around?

No baby yet, but she might be able to move into her new place soon!
Cali has legalized pot... some people have found that it helps w/ Chrohns & other gastro issues, like ibs. Of course, not everyone's ok w/ it even where it's legal, but it might be something she can look into (even cbd oil).
Soooo.... where exactly was his other testicle? Did it just not descend or was there some kind of other issue where it didn't grow in the right spot?

A decoy would sure poop less!
I thought the same thing!

Hi @staceyj glad to see you back. Since you're catching up I'll point you to a post. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/official-squatch-watchers.1208165/page-4812#post-21417689 You'll want to read down from there.:D
I missed a lot when I decided to skip.. but that explains why there was so many posts after things were pretty sparse for a while. That's really nice of you! I have an acquaintance who was recently looking for a surrogate gma for her son. It's nice when you can fill a void in someone's life.

So a few weeks back I went to TSC and I was browsing the clearance section and saw this: https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...y-hen-the-peck-stops-here-650-06?cm_vc=-10005
I've been having a problem w/ the 2 white ones pecking Olive & Damon on their tails and eating the feathers. It's been going on for a while and last year I sectioned them off into the smaller run, but I hate doing that.. I'd previously gotten the Pick No More stuff, but it is a weird syrupy consistency that's hard to apply. So anyway, I got the spray stuff and put it on Olive once. It must have worked b/c she's got tail feathers filling in now. They've also stopped pecking at Damon (they are the same color) even though I didn't get a chance to spray her. So if anyone has a picking issue it might be something worth trying.
