How do chickens know exactly where you have an injury and exactly how hard to bite, peck or stick a toenail in it to have you brew up a slew of profanity?
They're all sadists, swear on poor my Henry bit cuticle they are.
My creepy little man has some serious bite pressure and skewed depth perception.
Had a cactus get me, all downhill from there.

We have at least 2 more keets that hatched out under the Dark Cornish. Fortunately, I have a buyer for these keets. The people who I got our American Guinea Hogs want them to brood with the next batch of chicks they have hatching on the 21st.

So much for staying rested. I didn't get to sleep until almost midnight and at 3:45 this morning, I hear over the monitor, a little voice, more insistently saying "Good morning, Daddy. Good morning, Daddy. GOOD MORNING, DADDY!" He usually wakes up after my DH does but before I do so he calls on the monitor for Daddy. The problem, it was too early. So I had to put him back down and use the bathroom and I could not get back to sleep for more than a few minutes until after 6am. I was able to sleep for another 2 hours but I'm now starting off the week exhausted. I had the morning off, which was nice, but I had to watch Thing 1 instead of napping because DH is in serious need of chiropractic care. All this moving has seriously messed with his back.

Very pretty cactus plants! Those blooms are really something special.






I lost Windy last night.
She was the last of the tow yard birds. She hadn't ever been well. Poor thing is in a better place now.

Aww, Henny you gave Windy a stellar life.
That cactus is 30 years old lol! We got it at a yard sale when I was a kid.
It had nailed pretty much everyone it has ever known, and before the blooms open they look like alien peckers.
