That poor Dooneese chicken she's going to spontaneously combust one day because she's so conflicted.
The speckled sussex half drives her to be nosy but the derp half says squeal and run.
Watched the whole group flee in terror from a turtle no bigger than a baseball, Dooneese kept stopping taking a few steps towards the turtle before the derp kicked in then she'd squeal and run.
I did not take the personality clashes into my thought process when I hatched her quite obviously!
She is very pretty though...thank goodness.:D

All kinds of comical stuff in that statement Rae. :p
OMG I'll have to get my FIL to send me the clip he has of my White Cornish hen all puffed up and broody escorting her keets around. She looks so funny. With the Cornish having hard feathering, the broody mama puffed up look isn't all that impressive and looks rather comical.

I can't wait to see it!

All that rain can be very rough!

In the Summer here we do not get rain. We get rain in the winter and it is not hot then.

Aw dang Nunny! What a mess to deal with.

I am wondering if a French drain would help or be a waste of effort with all that saturated ground.
Still working on a plan. This was certainly a temporary fix and it did work to get the water out of the way. The ground is just saturated to max. I’m also on clay. So there is a layer of dirt then impenetrable clay. I think that’s why it gets soooo soggy. The clay is wet then there is no place for any more water to go. I had to scrape it off the shovel. I’m pretty sure I could have bricks out of the stuff. If it would ever stop raining so the sun could bake it. LOL
