Looking good are this year's blue and green layers!
The green layers are reddening up.

Robin is the only one with a name. :hmm

Yes the overhead light in the big coop throws the color off.

It was almost unbearable. They were nuzzling my fingers and pecking the wrinkles on my knuckles. Kept them quiet though.

Day old with a 6 week old. Growth challenged is an understatement.
They are so adorable and fluffy!

Oh yeah, haven't seen a baby yet that didn't love a hand hen. I'm convinced it is second best to an actual butt.
Negan still digs them, I can only do his head but it is enough. :p
Last summer my daughter put her hoodie on backwards and stuffed the babies in the hood! We put a heating pad under it to give them some extra warmth.

These are silver. So the white and black. And think the gold is newer...
Sexing is wait and see. Of course. I wish there was a course you could take on vent sexing. I'm confident I could do it without hurting the chick I just don't know what I'm looking at! LOL
Can you wing sex them?

Well Beavis is even balder and bloodier so she is in a crate for the night.
Think i'll let her have the run for a few days until whatever had went down out there blows over.
Barb and Kim...again with the chasing! They are just doing it to do it.
They know what they're suposed to do little sh*ts just want to do a couple laps around the yard beforehand.
Got Bruce Lee a leaf hammock that he seems to enjoy.
I never in a billion years thought i'd buy a fake leaf for a fish to sleep on but it has happened.:gig
My friend had a betta and got them a hammock. I had never heard of a fish wanting/ needing to rest before.

We would have a billion "is this a ball?" posts.
People would be looking sideways at anything round or dangly.
Don't underestimate the power of fun, it isn't going anywhere. ;)
:yuckyuck

Interesting. Looks like I need practice and a magnifying glass. I did find this as well...

Can anyone come up with a reason they blocked the chicks eyes!?! The shame of the comprising potion? Protect its identity?
:yuckyuck Obviously it's b/c it's mom requested it's identity not be disclosed for privacy reasons.

I am pretty sure my derp is a boy. Growing quite a comb. He will need a new home.
That sucks. Hopefully someone at one of the swaps will want him.

Hi guys!

I managed to get decent sleep last night. Being in my own bed was glorious! Not having nurses come in every few hours to poke and prod at me and the Milk Drinker was lovely as well. I’m going to move myself out to the couch for the day because I tried lounging in bed this morning and it was fairly uncomfortable.

Glad to hear you are feeling good, sleep is what every new mom craves! Napping with the new baby is some of the best memories one can make!

Henny you'd really make derps squeal for you own amusement?
I'm so proud. ;)
I will try for pictures of Dip & Dot this morning. They are so good at hiding behind mommy.

I may grab them like the scream inducing monster they seem to think I am. :lau

Always lots to do here. :p
Grabbing screaming Derps might be a fun distraction.

Now that the planting box next to the pond is done I can get the box built for the unhappy strawberries and get started on bigger nest boxes. Switching to externals on both coops.
That should shake up those broody butts.
:gig
@apryl29 The betta leaf was a new one for me too, apparently all that swimming and pooping is exhausting work because he hasn't left the leaf.:D

Yes, yes indeed. :lau
It is what they do best. :hmm

They protest loudly when I step in the coop to close the pop door too. I don't even have to be visible to cause squealing.

I will follow the photo shoot with watermelon wedges. :D
That should cement the full confusion well. :gig
