Gertrude the goat had 4 kids and one died, over on Granny's thread.Good afternoon! Well semi o.k afternoon lol!
I'm stuck with hubs, he took a trip down maybe three stairs and is now slowly dying.
Happy thoughts, I saw a groundhog eating clover in the backyard, the chicken-cat is trying to be freindly and I found a two year old red bull in the fridge almost frozen.
Yay gnome porn!! Ya'll have the best timing!
Omg! Wonderful! Two wins in one day!
Now just waiting on @Anansi for the Gertrude report.
Yea!My girl looks even better since I took that video. She is not happy to be in a cage still. But I told her one more night and a few more poops. LOL Since I gave her some food they are more solid. Much easier to clean up. The idea with the molasses water is to flush their system but yikes! I could smell her before I got to the crate.
I only fed her sparingly so she wouldn't gorge herself. Left her with the molasses water too. Gave her a good dose of Propolis last night just in case.
I think she'll be ready to go back in the morning.
I was close to culling yesterday morning. That's not an easy decision for me but her state was so sad I thought it was humane. I could tell she was terrified. I can't imagine not being able to move when I know I'm telling my body to do something.Yea!
I know, I kept a hen once that had been totally pecked. No tail, just a bloody area for her whole back side. Talk about gross. I washed, put Betadine, which had to hurt like holy hell, and crated her in the garage under the brooding lamp. Put Neosporin on the healing wound for a week, back out and laying! Never grew any tail feathers. Never let her back in with the bad pickers, either. Nice Orp, broody, gentle with chicks.I was close to culling yesterday morning. She was very tolerant of me giving her water and I really wanted to try to get her better but it seemed impossible.
I am astonished by how far she has come. And beyond glad I'm a big baby I couldn't bring myself to cull her.
Lol,Gertrude the hen Cappy she's getting spayed.OMG!
No kidding!
I been working on the nest box thingy.
I will have to take a couple pics before I put it in.
Due to the size of my plywood it is a bit shorter than intended but should still be plenty big.

I'm glad you didn't off her Nunny!Gertrude the goat had 4 kids and one died, over on Granny's thread.
