Between tending dogs and helping hubs I haven't had much time for the nest box. :(

I have it framed. Next step is cutting the plywood for the bottom and middle.
The bottom will be fixed but the middle will be removable for cleaning.
Making the bottom fixed gains them 2.5" in height. That is a big deal in chicken land. I will try lining the bottom with a feed bag......if that doesn't work.
It will be a PITA if that fails.

I figure I can get the plywood cut while hubs is out on the boat this evening.

Oh hubs is on staycation this week. oh goodie.

Yea, mostly the moist & gross things!
And I’m more moist and gross than normal. Fortunately, DH doesn’t seem too bothered by it.

On the plus side, I lose baby weight plus extra weight really quickly. I was 240 before pregnancy, I got up to 255 before delivery. Now at 15 days pp, I’m down to 210. I got down to 185 after Thing 1, but gained it all back. This time, I’m going to try to keep it low once I get down there. Also, I plan to get a new term life policy when I lose more weight and fully recover. My coverage lapsed when we moved to WV and I missed a payment. Hopefully, being at a lower weight will help bring down the premiums.

Nursing can really take off some pounds! Sadly the insurance rates go higher as we get older, but usually in 5 year steps for younger ages. You must have a good guy! Mine turns green at the sight of one drop of blood, let alone poop! Little ones are all poop!

DH doesn’t like blood but deals with it well. DH has actually been chief toddler diaper changer for the past 2-3 months. Thing 1 was too heavy for me to pick up regularly the last few months of pregnancy, plus the smell of his poop regularly tried to trigger my gag/puke mechanism. Since delivery, I’ve changed... I think 2 toddler diapers when DH wasn’t here. I change most of the Milk Drinker’s diapers but ask DH to step in if I’m hurting. DH actually minds the toddler diapers less than the breast fed baby diapers. He thinks the baby poop is gag worthy.

Big toddlers are by far stinkier and grosser than breast fed newborns! I knew I was pregnant with the second by the way the first daughter's diapers affected me! Never have been grossed out by poop, except then!

Oh, another reason DH doesn’t like changing Milk Drinker diapers, he is a little... water pistol during diaper changes. Thing 1 peed during diaper changes maybe a handful, or two of times in his entire life. The Milk Drinker has sprayed Daddy and himself (in the face) no less than 3 times in one diaper change. I’ve figured out a technique to mitigate the harm if not eliminate it. DH isn’t comfortable with the technique yet, so he is still wary of doing his diaper changes.
