Everyone was alive this morning, so that's nice. & I only woke up twice last night worried about them.

Always good when they are ok in the mornings.
I lost my light Brahma Jasmine overnight.
She had been having heart issues for quite some time. She was 5+ years old.
It's ok. I expected to lose her.

Good morning! Kids are out and fed, chunky Bob is fed.
Already fairly hot out there, got some showers yesterday so muggy too.
Henny sorry about Jasmine.
Expected or not still stinks to lose one.

The Milk Drinker slept through the night again. It was nice to have two nights of solid sleep!

We were planning to leave on Monday for a couple days at the beach before I have to head back to work on the 16th, but we decided to stay home, recover, clean the house and pack more leisurely for going to work. We can go on vacation another time.

I’ve also made a decision to really cut back on my chicken population. I’m going to rehome all but my broodies, EEs and Dark Cornish breeding stock. I’ll pick up on breeding the Cornish again next year. I think, moving forward, I’ll get leghorn pullets for eggs and just work on my Cornish.

Peanut is off the best today so that is a positive.

I ordered toys, a collar, id tag and feed dish for River. If we get the one I want I will be thrilled! That tiny baby is already at less than 2 weeks old 1 pound 14 ounces.

Dadgum it. I went to get minnows and hen feed. No minnows until tomorrow afternoon. All the feed in the store....every brand every type was June and early July mill dates.

Yeah....I came home with dog treats and that is all.

To clarify the 3 losses was amongst the group of us. Just 1 for me. I still have 3 deathlayers. Looks like 2 boys and a girl.
I will get more in the spring. As tempted as I am now I know it's not a good idea with winter coming.
