Morning everyone.

Still dark here. :hmm

Thinking of all our service members past and present and first responders today.
May today find them well and the rest of us grateful for all they have done and continue to do.
Yes, grateful for their service. FIL birthday today and he is not doing well. May have to have a toe amputated due to infection if abx don't work.

Aaaaaaand....the dreaded crowing hen. :hmm

I know who it is.
Sadly her days are numbered as that sound is not welcome in town.
Age....5
Breed....barnevelder
Name....Havoc

So far it is only first thing in the morning then she is "normal" the rest of the day.
But she’s a hen! Crowing or not she’s legal!

Well I’m now at 3 losses myself. First it was the deathlayer. Then I lost a barnevelder. Sad losses but no one had names so I wasn’t super attached.
This morning I lost Frannie. She was prone on the floor but alive. I picked her up and took her outside to get a look at her. She flapped her wings and died in my arms. I took her in the house and cleaned her up.
Her crop was a bit squishy and her butt was dirty. She was slightly prolapsed but that could have been from the death throws. This one I cry for. She was a special girl. My little pistol Banty Cochin.

Thank you and good morning. I was fortunate that day... My team was in a conference room on the far side of the pentagon and all came home alive. Our offices were destroyed by the fire. Huge classified safes melted like candle sticks. I lost a lot of friends that day.

Cap your FIL will be in our thoughts and prayers.

So sorry nunny :hugs

I was very lucky the judge reduced the $ too. It could have been $6,000 for all the carp they did.
They went inside Walgreens, through the cemetery, into dairy queen, Carl's junior and taco bell. Then they led the control officer on a 2 hour chase ending in the lake. He had to go cheat deep with a catch pole to poke one while hoping the other didn't attack or drown him.

Truth be told I was very grateful for the officers efforts and to have them home safely. They were back and forth across 2 major highways.
Holy wow. Those are some lucky dogs & it was nice that the judge was willing to help you out w/ the fines. It's not like it's your fault he's Houdini reincarnated.
At least they hit all the good places. I'd love to get me some DQ. They have pumpkin blizzards again and I have coupons!!

Good afternoon! I'm late, my phone battery physically died so iv'e been trying to get another.
Fortunately and unfortunatly my cheapo takes a common battery, last store I was going to try had one left open package too so 20% off. :yesss:

Lol! Sounds like you had fun.
Geeze that skunk, almost stepped out on it squealed and literally had to stop moving.
This is one of the skunks that has seen me all summer since it was tiny and it isn't one bit wary of me.
I call it Albert, it only has white on top of it's head.
It is only a matter of time before I get skunked, feel it in me bones.:lau

Lol, I would never poke a random skunk, I wouldn't have to.
If they see you enough when they're young and you don't hurt them they aren't afraid.
Normal skunk will go away or not even come near to begin with.
The deer sees the chicken herd are beyond fine so it is too.
Deer is bigger than me anyway, im definitely more scared of it.:D
I wish buns were like that. We've got a baby out there and if you make eye contact w/ it from afar it will run and hide. I can get within 10 feet or so of it as long as I don't make eye contact & keep a good distance between us. If I even look like I'm coming closer it runs. I just want to fluff it!!! Why doesn't it understand?
Thankfully I haven't seen a skunk around here. Knock on a lot of wood. Near my apt though.. there's a haven for them. I wake in the middle of the night & close the windows b/c someone got bombed.

For real Kiwi? No chickens around when I put that pot down, go inside for 2mins tops and boom....Kiwi.:rolleyes:View attachment 1904413
Ha! Was that forbidden dirt? Mine see me w/ a bucket of any kind and descend upon me like they've not eaten in weeks. 1/2 the time the bucket I have is an egg bucket, but they just see that I might have something they can eat.

She's getting it lol!
Omg, pumpkin! Orangest of all the grenades.:gig
Ugh hubs is pestering me for a banana cheesecake, guess I gotta bake.:caf
You could make a cheater's cheesecake & use one of the graham cracker crusts instead. I make them all the time (not banana though) b/c my kids like them. Super easy. My fav is white chocolate raspberry. I also have a recipe for mini cheesecakes that are cupcake size & we top them w/ pie filling. I found a recipe for a pumpkin cheesecake I'm thinking about trying. I wish it was easier to make smaller amounts of things like cakes and brownies and cheesecakes. We NEVER eat them all b/c there's only 3 of us. I made brownies Sunday night & there's 1/2 a pan sitting there rotting b/c no one else is eating them & I'm fat already.

Is there a farm place around there that will take 'retired' animals? Like there's a farm around here that takes in rescued animals. They try to rehome some, but others they will keep until they die naturally.
