I got corrugated plastic from Home Depot. I managed to get it put in so I can adjust it as needed. If course I didn't take pics. It's ugly but works. It looks like white cardboard so definitely not in the roofing section.
The soffits on my big coop are 14' long. :th

HAHAHAHA!!:lau:lau:lau:gig:gig
I do believe the drama button will be pushed by snow.
I also think Dip is my layer in that coop. I get an egg 5 out of 7 days and there is NO way my aging cochins are making those.
:gigEven in their prime my giant cochins only have me 2 eggs a week each. These eggs are WAY to big to be from the bantams.
You just described my coop too! Ugly but works. I like the corrugated plastic idea. I wish I'd thought of that yesterday. I got some from work and gave to the studio to see if we can use it for the ballet. I'll just stick to the cardboard and keep an eye out for some of that. I'm going to use some computer boxes (if they ever get ordered) to insulate my coop for winter as much as I can. I'll at least be able to get the lower section done. Hopefully it'll help keep them warm.

@apryl29 I will sign the reroute slip for snow! Make it more official with multiple signatures. Pretty sure I could get a few more folks to sign as well.

The ozonator would drive them out. They wouldn't stay to be suffocated unfortunately. They have been getting sprayed and then when they congregate, smooshed! Nastly little things. For those of you who would like to look...

Poor Clayton after his 2nd or 3rd treatment. I still couldn't kill them all.

Little nasty under the microscope. That was taken down the eye piece with my phone. LOL I'll be getting better pictures.
Oh wow. If I were you I'd be looking around for a bird nest around the coop / run. Odin had mites & a few of the girls had it, but he was in a separate area and I'd let him out so he'd mate w/ the girls & gave them mites. In his case it was probably a wild bird that roosted on the edge of his run and dropped bugs on him.
Have you been able to identify exactly what kind of mites they are?

I've used both! And ivermectin topically! Now I've gone to permethrin on the notion that maybe my Elector is old. It should never go bad and I stored it properly but who knows. They are direct from Hell! And I'm sending them back one palm smash at a time!

What's crazy is Clayton had more mites on him then Pat. Some birds have none. I know if they don't feel well they are more of a target but yikes!
21's bedbug spray might be the way to go inside the house, esp if it kills on contact. Is the permethrin working on the birds at all?

I do believe permethrin is the active ingredient in bed bug sprays and bomb. I thought about bombing my laundry room but I'm worried about the cats.
If you bomb I'd take the cats out to the garage or put them in the basement while it's going on... or even put them in carriers and put them in the car until you air everything out.

Morning everyone.

Looks like it will be a warm day with the forecast near 80° for today. It is a good day to finish up outside work before the cold gets here.
The tomatoes I still had in the garden took a hard hit from yesterday's frost. :( Those come out today. That will be it for the garden.
Wow. 80's? That's about what we had last week, but now it's settled it in the upper 60's. It's not bad, until the sun goes down and it gets cold.

It is taking FOREVER to warm up outside.

I want to weed eat and mow before the wet hits. Then there are the random other things like putting away the patio umbrella and getting the fish out of the pond. :hmm That should be "fun".

I did get the greenhouse straightened up and closed up.....wondering if there is time yet to grow lettuce and radish in there.....

Ok autocorrect got me again. :hmm

I would try the lettuce, radish and spinach in the green house. What do you have to lose.. a few seeds and a little time

Didn't you JUST get the fish put in the pond?
I noticed that it doesn't seem to hit the high until about 4pm if it's going to be a warm day. Then it start getting cold about 1/2 hr later.
