Good morning! Pretty smooth morning, no disasters and that worries me greatly.:p

My ice is coming, probably this weekend. I could totally do without it.
I tripped out on that button, haven't even seen one in ages much less have any.
Here I was thinking glass was something else and super fancy.:D
Morning everyone. Coffee is ready.

We have a sheet of ice on everything this morning. It should melt off quickly when the sun comes up.

Very cool buttons Chicky. Those shell ones are cool but difficult to find.

Morning Bob! :)
Good morning folks :frow

I was hoping everybody would be done molting by now but sounds like you've got stragglers too.
Marlene is just now getting nude but her meaness will probably keep her warm.
Ethel and Dutch haven't molted any, kind of worries me.
It is pretty chilly this morning. Burbs are getting more fish in their mash.

Crooky is trying hard to get those feathers done.
Little Smudge is looking rough with this molt too.

I haven't been out there yet. The sun is just now up here.

Don't remind me, I have loads of cleaning to do. I am starting a new garden area, so the poo can go there. Maybe I can do one area a day. Today I am bringing all of my paint into the crawl space so it won't freeze. I buy a lot of mistint paint for my cages and coops. $9.00 a gallon is much better than $30. or more.
Thanks for the reminder! I have a can of paint I need to get inside before things start to freeze. Let's see if I remember when I'm out there tonight.

I hope it's not too bad out there.

Our rain to snow switch comes this afternoon, then they're saying there's going to be lake effect. We're in an odd place where sometimes we get some, and other times not. Of course, Nunny will get much worse out by her. Next week's supposed to be when the real fun starts. I got the tarp over the front of the coop last night & I got a flock block to keep them occupied. I'll be shutting off the back run this evening while it's below freezing. I guess I need to get the heated waterer out too.
The hs football team made it to playoffs so we get to freeze our butts off Saturday night. Night! IDK why they have to have it at night. Game starts at 7pm. If you never hear from me again it's bc I've either frozen to death or I have no fingers to type.

Yeah lots of stragglers this year. :(
Poor Crooky spent a lot of time this summer looking like a porcupine. Not sure why either.
No mites or lice but her feathers looked all broken. Seriously, all over her body too.
I expect my elderly bantams to struggle a bit with the molt. Bitty looks ok.....just looks "thin" without the extreme feathers to puff her up.

The mulch path was slick as all get out. We are already climbing a bit in temp so :fl For the melt and dry.

Jeebus! Night?
Hat, gloves, scarf, mittens, extra socks, blanket, and hot cocoa!
Keep them fingers safe.

I love clown and kuhli loaches! Clown loaches sometimes sleep on their sides!
I bought Kuhlis once, but they got saline shock and died. Apparently that is a common problem for Kuhlis. They can stand higher salt content so their breeders keep them at higher salt levels which helps keep illnesses at bay, but most pet stores don't know this and put them in salt free tank without slowly replacing the slightly salty water in their bags with the water in the tank they are going to and they go into shock and die.

I wanted to get clowns but I didn't have the space or the money to get them the set up they would need when they got closer to full sized (100-500 gallon tank).

I don't know what the rest of ya'll do at 1am but I party hard.:D
I replace buttons!

Then about halfway through button number two I notice one of my Ebay buttons is an oddball.
It looks nearly identical at a glance but it is totally not one of the set.
If the top wasn't concave on the odd one id have totally not noticed.
Still going to use it, it is very pretty.

I have jars and other containers full of buttons. I am a collecting nut.

Interesting about the salt. I never knew that about them. I generally keep a little salt in my tanks so maybe that is why they did well for me.
