Tilly update.....

The vet will try to feed Tilly today. Depending on how that goes she may be well enough to come home either this evening or in the morning.
That means they are seeing a marked improvement.
For real I thought and so did they that she would not pull through. Still not out of the woods but much closer.
:clap:love:hugs

These trips just like me to have to go out in the cold I promise they do!
Early this morning about 9ish I hear this tapping, just furious tapping on metal so I go investigate. I find Barb doing "im gonna lay here!" circles in the metal seat of the kubota tractor.
I sigh....heavily....pick her up and put her on a nest get an egg about 5mins later.
Not ten mins ago Kim was on the egg door of the coop just egg singing her butt off. I do the same deal complete with heavy sigh.
Im now waiting, her and Dooneese are double nesting because I have sooo little nest space available.
Guess my good girl was Stacey, but it was probably because she was locked in.:p
No guilt, just one more night of stupid cold here and then back to slightly dumb cold.
Im stuffing chickens the absolute wrong way so they'll probably hate to see it go.:)
Ok guilt here as we are 51°.

Dry an reasonably warm for the next 7 days too.

Well that little trooper! Go Tilly, she's got too many years to drive you crazy to go anywhere.;)

Yay, go Tilly go... :wee Henny, just cause you need another :hugs

I am hanging by my last frayed nerves.

Tilly poor sick Tilly. I go see her in 2 hours. The vet called and although improving won't be well enough to come home today, and maybe not tomorrow either.
It is a hard thing to recover from.
Hubs sold his box trailer in case we need that $ too.

I know he is angry about the cost.....I also know it is because money should never be the deciding factor between life and death.
I also know how it ripped his guts out to think of losing Tilly.

Come spring thaw....the entire kennel will be paved with 18 or 24" paving stones.

So glad to hear Tilly is doing better. I was worried reading through the thread. I love good news!

I'm currently at 22° feels like 14°. That's actually an improvement. From Monday into Tuesday I got a good covering...

In the run was interesting

Freezing rain followed by snow makes it stick to everything! I had to go out and shake the frames to get the snow off. It bent some fence it was so heavy.

Holy white out!!! :th

I saw weather of the carp kind was in your area. Not quite prepared to see THAT level of carp though.

Tilly will be ok. :fl
At least we are still at used car prices not new car yet! Emergency vets are $$$$ but if they can bring her back I will never complain about that again.

It is so pretty!

It is sad that it bent things though

Oh boy roost time was derpy, hopefully I didn't permently scar anybody lol.
Ok firstly it is cold out there, muuuuch to cold for crap so of course double helping is served.
Prince chases Lulu in the coop which in turn knocks Marlene off the roost Lulu shoots by me at the door and instinctively I snatch Prince put him in the other coop side block him off and count the girls.
Susan starts being herself, biting and feather pulling so I nudge her and of course she falls off the roost only about two feet though but the look I got OMG.
Finally get that side settled, counted etc and go get Prince who is shook because it is his first snatching and put him on the roost.
I did apologise profusely but jeeze come on! It is cold, it gets dark quick and we have raccoons the size of toddlers tonight was just not the night.
And yes, im aware im probably going to chicken hell.:caf
