Hmm. I guess it could be either or neither of those. They didn't say what kind of worms, they didn't test anything, just said it could have been parasites, or gape worm. The vet said it might have been a respiratory thing b/c it came on so fast, but in Sept I lost another of the same breed (amberlink, 2 1/2 hrs old) for internal laying & she had the same bloated belly & I could tell that she'd lost weight, he breastbone was prominent, same as the last one. After she died she has some liquid come from her nose, so that might be why she thought respiratory, I'm not sure. This wasn't the same vet I saw the last few times so I don't know how good she is w/ chickens & since she didn't see her alive she couldn't tell me much more than my chicken was dead & make guesses. So sorry for your loss. There are two products that begin with a P, one is called Panacur and the active ingredient is fenbendazole (100 mg/g or 100 mg/ml). This is the exact same thing as Safeguard. The other product is pyrantel pamoate.
What types worms do you want to treat? I ask because not all de-womers treat all worms.
That's good to know. I know I've seen it mentioned here a few times. I bought it last year, but then Nunny gave me some stuff to use on them.@apryl29
Reading up on the equimax it says specifically formulated for horses and ponies. It advises against use in other species.
Thanks! Good to see you & your pup. Glad things are going well for you out your way.Sorry Apryl
You probably could have made a lot of $$ on those anoles if you set up a pay cam.Good super late afternoon!
Iv'e had a migraine all day so no reading or anything else really.
Iv'e been off a day all week so tomorrow is my day of peace, not today....ohh old age you joker!
Gobbles was a lucky guy, he already had a tank before we ever met.
I had given my anoles away "tired of 24/7 anole porn" and hadn't taken their tank down.
He would have died, but im a OG worst of the worst saver.
And I do live in Shrek's swamp, you've seen my festive holiday fogView attachment 1980584 View attachment 1980585 .

I'd noticed she was a bit off last Friday, then Monday evening she wasn't in the coop w/ everyone else. I found her in the run, under the little porch soaking wet (it was raining). I gave her a soaking & blow dried her & put her back in the coop. The next night she was stuck back outside in the run (they have to either jump up about 6" or use the ramp to get up on the porch section to go inside.) I brought her into my car and fed her some eggs & warmed her up before putting her in the cage in the coop so she couldn't get back outside. The next day I fed her eggs in the am & refreshed her water. She wouldn't lie down, just stand, and her belly felt bloated. That evening she tried to get out of the cage, but fell.. I assumed she tripped over her food dish, but maybe not. I helped her up & she was eating some eggs before I left. The next morning she was lying on her side & dying. She seemed to be panting a bit. The only difference was the other one's comb was a dark red/ purple color & this one's comb was red. She had a very long molt & she hadn't laid an egg in a long time.
Would there be a problem to just use safeguard to worm them since I've only got 1 girls who's laying right now. I have 3 that are about 1/2 through a molt so I don't want to stress them too much. I treated them w/ Corid about a month ago. The vet lady said the good would outweigh the bad as far as it goes for treating the 3 that are molting.

Actually, I had a chameleon that would hold up his arms when I looked in his cage. He always wanted to be picked up. He was a panther chameleon. At one point I had 4 pairs of different species of them. Veiled are the easiest ones to keep. Oh, and my Jacksons had babies!Chameleons are SO COOL!!! But they take a more specialized set-up (fancy fog machine is a must) and most don't like to be touched. Tad and Hoshi are natural desert dwellers that can both be forced into cuddling. I value those attributes a lot.We may get a chameleon eventually though just to have some extra eye candy in the house
