So, I’m feeling accomplished. I got the baby to bed, Thing 1 washed and in bed and just about every dish and pot in the kitchen cleaned or in the dishwasher being cleaned. It is a good feeling.

Wow! You go ladySo, I’m feeling accomplished. I got the baby to bed, Thing 1 washed and in bed and just about every dish and pot in the kitchen cleaned or in the dishwasher being cleaned. It is a good feeling.
They started stashing them without my consent. My FIL has stopped looking for eggs because they had stopped laying. Well they started again. Unfortunately only 5 hatched (one died early on) there were a few bad eggs but most of them were developing. However it would have been a crazy staggered hatch and I couldn’t manage it in the incubator or brood the chicks at that point so I let the eggs that didn’t hatch go when they got off the nest.Goodness me that is adorable! But wholly egghoarding! Naughty girls![]()
I have Bantam Cochins, Bantam Cochin mixes, Porcelain D’Uccles, and Silkies. So, forgive my poor memory, but which Squatchers (if any) have bantams? DH has confessed to wanting a flock of tiny chickies.Anything special I should know about bantam care?!
I knew someone had porcelain d’uccles! And I remember how beautiful Clayton was. Still so sorry you lost himI have Bantam Cochins, Bantam Cochin mixes, Porcelain D’Uccles, and Silkies.
Lila Broody Queen is a cochin mix and the best little momma. The other Cochins have all been broody before a year old. Quite the personalities on those little balls of fluff.
The D’Uccles are a tad flighty. Once held they calm. Kind of like a pigeon. Clayton was my D’Uccle rooster and he was the sweetest little fellow. Very calm and tame.
Silkies are new to me. My Poof Poof ended up being a boy of course. He is also very sweet and tame. The others are still little so no idea what they even are sex wise. They are friendly though. Silkies are known for being broody and great moms.
Those all have feathered feet by the way.
Morning Bob.
