That is very interesting. I wonder how baking other "ok" GI things affects them.....

I also found it interesting that sweet potatoes do not have the chemical present like other potatoes do......different plant family maybe.....:idunno
yes different family

As a non dog owner im just taking this all in.
And hubs wanted a dog, how cute in a never going to happen way.😋
And questions, i have two
Henny, is eating a dirty sock much worse than a clean one?
Nunny, how long is the proper waiting period for kisses after eating chicken sh*t?

Some days I feel like I am trying to chase lemmings away from the cliff.

The last few days I have removed from mouths....

a siding nail (that was pulled from the side of the shed)

A 2"x1" chunk of concrete (dug up from a 12" deep hole they put at the base of a fence post)

3 rocks.....presumably from same fence post removal attempt

a foil wrapper from pop tarts that blew into the yard

my notepad with coil top (stolen from the kitchen table)

4 washcloths (from the back of the sink)

a sock (it was clean...stolen from hubs while he was dressing)

countless chunks of dirt, bind weed, sticks, small twigs from my lilac bushes and clumps of Delilah's hair that she leaves everywhere.

"FIRST ONE TO THE CLIFF WINS!" :barnie
I shouldn't laugh but I know how you feel. I'd like to go a day without asking "What are you eating? There isn't any food in the back yard!" Usually followed by "Stop eating chicken $h!t off my boots! You're so gross. No I don't want kisses now!"

Yes. Around here it is rather similar to boot poop licking. No kisses afterward!! 🤮
No hubs dirty socks are not stinky. I have a dirty sock aversion.

add to the list of things removed from dog mouths .... Wide crown landscape fabric staple...no I don't know where the tater THAT came from.

Good gravy! Id have muzzled every.junk eater by now, old nerves couldn't take it.
Can't blame you for side eyeing dirty socks, man socks are awful even the "o.k" ones.
Around here it is tighty whiteys that get treated like nuclear waste....so gross.☢🤢

Truly it boggles the mind.
Hubs wants muzzles for them.
Problems I see.....
Getting muzzles on each dog BEFORE someone 💩's the floor
Keeping muzzles on them
Getting muzzles back off them so they can eat FOOD and drink

Then there was the clear example of the dog at the vets in for a 3rd surgery to remove a foreign body from the gut. THAT SHE ATE EVEN WITH A MUZZLE ON.
:th:barnie

The owner showed me the dogs muzzle. It was a basket muzzle with small holes no bigger than 1/2 inch. WTH! Those are supposed to work!

It is just crazy! I have never had a dog put so many no no things in their mouths and now I have 3 at once!

I was thinking about the basket muzzle too, guess not.

Never had a dog that ate rocks and such. Underwear yes, but it was tore up and mainly there.

Reminds me of chicks, finding novel ways to commit suicide

All I had to do was look at the dog sternly and say 'WHAT ARE YOU EATING?" They would spit it out immediately and look to the side to avoid my stare. Most of the time it was some innocent thing like a days old piece of dry kibble they found. They were very much relieved when I would announce "okay."

Mine are a PITA about it and make me chase them down. My other dogs would drop it no matter what it was or how tasty it was when I said "drop it".

These girls....I think they are trying to put me in a ward with squishy walls.

Hi peeps!

Just relaxing with a cup of non-caffeinated tea before I head to bed. We did a LOT today. I had a friend from church come over and watch the boys this morning so we could go to the farmhouse and work without having to manage them. My mom has been managing them, but she was away over the weekend and didnt come back until this evening. After lunch I cleaned up the kitchen and worked on slicing up the bacon. I even baked a batch of it in the oven. OMG it was delish! It just melted in my mouth! But that took so much longer than I expected and my slicer kept masticating the bacon. My MIL said she saw a blog that suggested half freezing the bacon before slicing. That worked superbly!

Oh in other news, I put the Milk Drinker in his first cloth diaper last night for our first test run. I decided to try that because he rarely poops in the evening/overnight. Well, guess what he did... Yup.... and my toilet sprayer and diaper pail don’t come in the mail until tomorrow.

Thanks for throwing me into the deep end little dude!

Well, I managed to get the poop cleaned off without too much fuss. It was actually less gross than some blowouts he’s had.

Oh, and we are getting our new bacon seeds tomorrow!
