We got a few inches yesterday and I cleared off about 3/4 of the driveway and street in front of the house. For 50 years the village ignores that part of the street- maybe they know I don't have a car. But we don't have sidewalks either - so use that for walking.

I called up to complain. Hours later a huge plow came and pushed a couple feet of snow into the utility easement. Still have to go out and clear up everything they missed. :rant:mad:

Relatable chicken story... Wednesday I had time to go do the chickens during the day before the ballet stuff. I rinsed off the edge of their waterer and as I was putting it back in I noticed a green egg on the floor under the feeder & it had some sticky egg yolk on it. I didn't see any other eggs in the nest boxes (for some reason they keep kicking out all the straw). So then I look around and hidden behind the sick cage was a nest on the floor. I hadn't gotten an egg from Toothless in about 2 weeks. It seems that's b/c she was laying in the hiding place, along w/ Olive or Damon. No idea how many eggs were lost. I found 7, plus 1 that I didn't see until I looked closer at the photo. I'm guessing it's about 10-20 eggs. I cracked them all & saved the shells for the girls. By the next afternoon the one I missed had been broken, I assume it froze & they started eating it. I cleaned up the pile of ew & collected 2 eggs that were laid yesterday. A nice, but annoying surprise. So I've been buying eggs for weeks for no reason.

I'm on high ground, but flooding in the low lying areas and then the white stuff. My driveway is under the bamboo in the second shot.

Oh wow. I hope you don't end up w/ the ice flow problems they had last year. I remember that several rivers got blocked up with ice & it caused even more flooding.
Does the bamboo normally hang down so low or do they have ice covered w/ snow weighing them down?

Back road plowers are the best. And you know if it was their road that someone did halfway they'd be ticked.

Ice and snow, they're normally straight up.

I cannot find my fajita seasoning recipe.
imma wing it so here's hoping no one dies tonight.

Still snowing heavily here. I have been told the roads are turning to crap. I MIGHT drive the 1/4 mile to the store for sour cream. MAYBE.

It is supposed to snow all day.

Edited...again because autocorrect thinks it knows everything. It doesn't.
